A mate of mine is going to salcombe in the summer he would like to try fishing on light tackle from the shore,any suggestions?on bait method etc.

Salcombe 30 mins up the road from me, full of mullet in the summer mate, heavy match rod or light carp rod the tools needed liquidised bread for groundbait, bread flake or mackerel flesh for bait. take a carp rod for spinning and float fishing for small bass and pollock and garfish from rock marks using rag worm, live prawn, or fish strips, take a trip to Brixham for some wrecking or breakwater fishing, oh yes stacks of small day ticket carp puddles within 30min Drive
