Cobra kayaks

I notice you can get them in the UK are reasonable prices (http://www.cobrakayaks.co.uk/). Has anyone tried them? The Navigator XF looks perfect for fishing.

Thing is ... when you buy one all the storage hatches etc are all optional extras so taking this into account they work out quite expensive. The hatch kits are not cheap.

... just a thought ..

I got an F&D. Solid yak, proper solid. It's like a barge, just keep on loading it up with camping and fishing gear and of you go.

I think Bill (yakity) has or had one of the Cobra's a navigator, would be worth asking his opinion.

1 on the lure is worth 2 from the bait.

I must go down to the sea again

To the lonely sea and sky

I left my shoes and socks there

I wonder if they're dry?

Yep, hence the question. I've read a few US reviews but the trouble with yanks is they are too polite to slag anything off so you only read "I bought X and its the best kayak" reviews.

Although I like my Tarpon 120 there are some things I would definately change:

* Front hatch is impossible to get back on. Not a fan of the tuperware lids.

* Centre hatch too small to be useful

* A tad wider would be nice so I can shift about easier although the kayak is very stable

* Footwell too wet even just sitting in the thing without paddling

* Quite heavy in comparison to similar size kayaks although it is very solid

* Feels quite slow but this could be me being a slow paddler?

I have a Cobra Tourer. Nice and stable, not as quick as a Scupper Pro, but it makes a good fishing platform.

The hatches look good and in my opinion a lot better quality than the Ocean Kayak hatches. I agree with GB, they are solid, well made kayaks - you get what you pay for!!

Would never be without the Scupper Pro though.
