  1. Hi Mark Another good report and pics. I like the look of your neoprene boots, would you mind letting me know where you got them etc Cheers Rich
  2. Oh no - DO NOT tell me it gets worse. I thought the hard work was over. Now I'm not feeling quite as smug. Nice pics Mark. That is a good option but the F.P.O. would probably not allow it on the grounds that I would still be enjoying myself.
  3. Just finished reading all your reports Mark. Very impressive, good effort. Twins Jeff? You wont be doing much fishing. I know, I've got 2 girls. Mine are now 9, hang in there mate it does get easier. Rich
  4. I am right in the middle of my two week holiday in sunny Florida and have just been to the BassPro shop on International Drive. The phrase 'kid in a toy shop' springs to mind. It is absolutely awesome, you can get eveything you could ever need. Fishing kayaks already fitted out, VHf radios, fishfinders, Scotty rod holders etc etc etc. The list really is endless, and the prices were cheeeaaapp!! Unfortunately I was dragging my fish-phobic family round with me so I had a limited time there. Lets just say I wont be buying any Rapala's for a while!!
  5. I dont have the NZ model with the screws in the centre console so I added 2 sets of pad eyes and bungee buttons with some bungee cord. I hope you can see what I mean in the photo, Its one of the few I have. You can't see the second set as they are under the fish. I.M.O. it is a top kayak. I would definately recommend one.
  6. I have a Cobra Tourer. Nice and stable, not as quick as a Scupper Pro, but it makes a good fishing platform. The hatches look good and in my opinion a lot better quality than the Ocean Kayak hatches. I agree with GB, they are solid, well made kayaks - you get what you pay for!! Would never be without the Scupper Pro though.
  7. You were lucky all those birds didn't want to give your Prowler the 'white' look. That could have been messy!!! Fantastic coastline, hopefuuly summer is just around the corner.
  8. Thanks Dave, no offence taken. What I meant was that the large 'groove' running down the middle of the hull is wider than the gap between the two pads. This prevents the pads being completely flush against the outer part of the hull. I'm sure there are technical names for these parts but I don't know them. I just checked the pictures on their website and the kayak they use has a much narrower 'groove' than mine. I don't think it will be a major problem, its just a shame not to make the most out of those big support pads.
  9. Hi Varp I'm pretty pleased with it. I only have my D.I.Y. trolley to compare it with but from what I've read on this forum it is better than the rest. It is very quick and easy to assemble, the little stand is helpful and it seems fairly strong and robust - time will tell. My only disappointment is that my Scupper Pro doesn't sit flat on the nice wide rests but more on the two edges of the rests. I have only tried it out on my drive but I think it should be fine. Everybody else seems to rely on them so they can't be too bad.
  10. No prizes for guessing what I bought today!
  11. I ordered some rivets last year from them and the postage was only 4 dollars.
  12. I decided to email Johnsons Outdoors. Here is the reply The orange one will be identical in design to the green one…more visible colour-wise & a bit of branding will be the only changes. I think the confusion over a ‘new’ model came when our PR agency email-shotted the various sites & mags with the new picture – we didn’t do this with the green one last year as it arrived very late (June) in the season. Apologies for any confusion! Best regards Andrew Andrew Dron
