  1. Well done, I think we need a bigger boat just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water
  2. Hi I've got a Prowler 13 and I have mount my sail on the front hatch with out any problems
  3. I once saw a skipper de-wing a skate in 2 seconds flat and then though the body over the side and it swam away I was shocked and horrified so don't do it
  4. The last time I caught a skate and cooked it was way back in the late 70s, believe it or not in those days we eat everything including the bait
  5. Cut the body off it is in a figure of "8" once removed skin the top and watch out for the thorns, they can do real damage, I just rub flour and salt and pepper and grill it. They have no bones, but a cartilage and you scrap the flesh away .... lovely
  6. Hi Andrew Exeter lucky you, there are a few members down there on the <link> I gave you, make your self known and I'm sure someone will let you have a go in theirs before you buy YD
  7. Hi Andrew Ocean kayaks seem to be very good the prowler 13 and the new trident have a lot of followers, I have a prowler 13 and find it very stable and good when the seas are a wee bit lumpy. The only think I don't like with the Prowler is the small round hatch it is a little bit better than useless as it is only a few inches deep enough to put your car keys in, some have remover the base so they can have access to the hull, the new trident has a centre hatch, but it is more expensive so really it is all down the money. If you can try before you buy, where are you based ?? have sent you a PM YD
  8. what's wrong with your paddle Paddling Straight or The Straight and Narrow Path For Kayakers
  9. As most of us can't read your mind it may be helpful if you give us your location

  12. Today it was 7c and I wore my drysuit with thermal T-shirt and long johns with the fleece undersuit and I was just paddling no fishing and by the time I got back I was sweating like a pig and my suit is breathable ...or so they say !!
  13. http://www.stealthdrive.co.nz/uk/ here, but it ain't cheap
  14. Replies 0 it seems that the lights are on, but there's no one at home very good catch report
  15. Using a condom catheter are a bit hit and miss as they don't suit everybody, I have tried one for medical reasons and if you kink the outlet tube you end up with a wet crutch, most if not all divers that wear wet suits pee in it, I kid you not, just wash it out in disinfectant and make sure you do the boots as well. As for dry suits you can buy a suit with one fitted or have one fitted later at a cost of £65, now if you buy a suit that has a front zip and it is baggy, you can open the zip up and pee that way, but an open suit is not a good idea in rough weather if you fell in while peeing. Getting back to what diver wear in a dry suit ......a nappy incontinant pad, P-valve or hang on. So there you have it, you can have a zip fitted in a wet suit or a P-valve, but I can't see the point in that. P-valve fitting a P-valve
  16. Well done Richi you deserve a medal
  17. what part of the f...... didn't you understand I know what your getting at A few years ago I use to make trolley for the carp fishing to carry there gear down to the lakes, I sold loads, but I wanted to get them into the shops so one was sent to Carp World and another to Angling Mail, both gave poor reviews, yet they were retained and not sent back. Two years later I was at a lake and I happen to see one of my trolleys and asked were he got it from, he went on to say that he had done a review on the said trolley and kept it as a freebie he went on to say "it's OK but I wouldn't pay for it" So the moral of this story "don't go by reviews" Ps if codshead would send me his address I will send you a length of elastic out me underpants, but your not getting a new kayak
  18. The easy answer to your question is what's the f ......has it got to do with you, if someone gets a freebie out of a company that's up to them, and if that same person writes a review so be it. Most if not all reviews are carried out by Jo public so in the end of the day it is only their view and I for one would not simply buy because someone said it was good. Ps I received side handles from OK when one broke and saved me £10-15 (thank you Andrew) but in no way am I in there pockets and if I were I refer yo to the first statement above.
  19. when my side handle broke Andrew sent me a new set
  20. well I'm very glad there are demo days/weekends like these, when I bought my first one I had to buy it blind so to speak and did not know much about them as there was only importer and no kayaks to try out, so thanks to Richi and others this has been made possible to one of the fastest growing water sports
  21. well I won't tell if you don't
  22. if you can et to the back of them a domed shaped nut and bolt called "Socket Button Screws" would look OK from here www.seascrew.com
