X Factor

Hi

Using 4 X Factors out here in Spain. No problems even with big guys using them. I am not using the rudder because we are in the Mediterranean but maybe a good idea in your neck of the woods.

Not having tried the X factor .... would you say they are a nippy kayak or a bit sluggish due to the width .... also do they suffer from much bow slap ??

Hi Volusian

I average 4.7km per hour according to GPS. Normal paddling in normal Mediterranean conditions, force 2-3 at the most. Obviously if riding the swell a slight bow slap is felt but the advantages of stability and space for fishing equipment far outweighs any of this.

If you want a kayak to travel a long way to fish then maybe a narrower vessel would be better but as far as an out and out fishing kayak goes the X Factor, in my opinion, is hard to beat.

Why not go back to Cobras - They are located in Port Talbot just up the M4 from you.

I am from Bridgend area and use a Marauder XF.

Really Fast dry, and relatively light Yak (very adaptable).

I use dry bags and can tuck all I need and more on board.

Loads of room for Rod rests etc.

In a couple of years when I change my "drifter" this was the kayak I was going to get.

Had a good look around them in Plymouth's "Kayaks and Paddles" - what a lovelly build.

The hull is also guaranteed for a much longer period of time.

For the moment I am just dreaming of one!
