Has anybody fished Blue Anchor or Minehead in Somerset. If so, what methods/baits/tides/marks are best. I've decided to make a spur of the moment weekend break up their with the family and fancied getting in a bit of fishing.

Thanks

Easy fishing at Blue anchor, Cast out 60+ yards 21/2 hours either side of top tide sit back in the car and wait for the rod tip to rattle. From the start of the wall to the toilets standard beachgear 5oz baitsheild rig with lug for the Codling and small fish baits on a three hook Pat for the Whiting. Still a good chance of Conger so Whiting or Pout can be recycled as hook bait. From the toilet to the hill use pulley rigs with worm and squid cocktail for larger Codling /Cod.Nice pub just before the hill too!!

If you`re sensible you`ll be driving an estate?

If in Minehead, drive past the harbour( going west), park on the seaward side of the carpark, cast out about 50yds and wait for the fish to jump on? Something like that. You don`t need huge casts just a decent gripper lead, so as not to give the guy downstream the hump when you look at your bait? Bait is available on the pier?(Not guaranteed). But at least you`ll have a bit of action.

Paul.

We don`t use J`s anymore!!
