I know some of these groups might seem a tad weird Jeff. But it made me think of how prepared am I if we had some natural disaster? I`m not talking about some cataclysm either. More on the lines of a heavy blizzard, flood etc which caused disruption to power and water supplies and prevented the Tesco run.
Did a quick check and realised that we`d be in trouble by the end of the week! Only water supply would be the header tank which means boiling all water for drinking. I`m OK with that via a camping stove with a large box of gas cannisters. Lighting and radio/tv is catered for by portables and my penchant for buying batteries in bulk.
But food could prove a problem as you would have to say goodbye to the contents of the freezer after a few days. I don`t think many folk keep a stock of the `old fashioned` ingredients? Apart from a 10kg bag of rice and a few stock cubes we`d be down to tins. I`ve got about 20 tins of various varieties that would soon disappear!
Tescos here I come. Dried milk, lots of dried beans, cases of pot noodles, 1000 ltrs bottled water, first aid kit, water purification tablets(just in case) etc.
