Welshcaster - there aren't any kayak fishing clubs anywhere!!!

These forums are the closest you'll get. We meet up, help each other, have a good time, some catch more than others. It is very friendly, very informal and very useful.

Well done to yakity yak for getting Elton to give us the space to do all this. Talking of which - where is he? Gone quiet of late. Has been tied to the paint roller by his missus ?

Staffordshire.

Fishing kayaks:

White& Orange Dorado

Olive Scupper Pro

Yellow Prowler Elite

Touring kayaks

Red White Skua

White & Orange Duo

Hi mate

as Simon said there aren’t any clubs, but there’s a few people kayak fishing in the South Wales area. I’m from Bridgend and fish Ogmore and Newton or if I fancy drive I go down the Gower.

Take it easy to start with and be careful when first using your anchor the tide runs very fast in the Bristol Channel.

Oxwich is a good place to start. Fish the bay on an incoming tide, and stay away from the point when the tide turns. Plenty of fish about this of year.

What part of South Wales are you from ?

hi m8 I'm from swansea . i haven't got a kayak yet can't make my mind up to which one to get. i will probably start off in swansea bay on the strombus wreck where you get bream, trigger, bass and most other fish the wreck is only about 300m off shore at low water and there's not much run of tide in the bay

Heres the wreck on Tusker rock , went out there a mates rib today for a recce.

Some very bassey looking gulleys and theres no evidece of netting on any of the wreckage. As soon as we get a set high pressure Im going to give it ago, mind you that might not be until 2008 the way this summers going :wallbash:

As stated there are no clubs as such. There is however plenty of opportunity to get out with like minded people, 99% of people here are more than happy to have some company when going out for a day on the salt. Keep your eye's peeled for meeting's and try to turn up even if it's just for a natter and a look at the kayak's as the lads are launching.

Best of luck and remember the only daft question is the one that is not asked, that's what the forum is all about helping people.

Blaze that place looks well fishy fair play. If you want some company when you go there give me a shout, I would love to tag along to see what's there.

1 on the lure is worth 2 from the bait.

Tidy. I am free any week day and can do weekends if the fishing dictates. I have wanted to fish Tuskar for ages.
