Which fishfinrder

Since being put off buying a finder in the states, I have now found a couple within my price range in the uk, they are 1 Eagle Cuda 168 £63 or the Garmin 90 £72, both advertised in the Boat Fishing mag

this month. Does anyone use either of these, are they ok and if so which is preferred ? Thanks in anticipation Martin.

Humminbird 215 is a capable entry level unit at around £80 or so (I myself chose it over the Garmin) and has the additional advantage of a 2 year warranty.

what do you use as a power source as none of these fish finders are battery (4xaa) operated are they?

Sikaflex inside the hull. You can run the cable through a hatch or drill a hole, but the same would apply to most finders I guess.

The cudra 168 is the same as I have and has been trouble free.

 

Not sure of Garmin but was warned away from them myself.

Gilbo how do you find the Cuda ? Are they fairly accurate ? No problems with them getting wet/damp ? Easy to install ? Sorry for all the questions but this is new to me ! Cheers Martin.
