I have the malibu two xl and even though I live in a town with large harbour the local chandlers never seem open and what ive seen through window are useless and extremely expensive :(

there is an ocean kayak prowler fully rigged out to aussie spec in woolacombe adam. it has all electronics, anchor trolly system, rudder and a whole host of other goodies, it may be worth a visit to get an idea on how to fit yours out!

clamcleat: http://www.kayakfishinggear.com/index.asp?...D&ProdID=85

If I anchor or want to hook up from the stern do I need another clamcleat facing the other way ?

can you not use a side facing clamcleat, instead of two?

You can try it - it may work best mounted mid cockpit though. I prefer to keep the rope away from the cockpit area where there's less chance of accidental release or the rope getting snagged - hence fit one just fore and aft of the cockpit.
