If you fish alone I would have both electric and manual pumps. With just a manual it is hard to pump and steer. On planning boats if the boat has a rear drain on the transom when on the plain if the drain plug is removed the water will be sucked from the boat! Try this close to the shore to check it works with your boat. It works on my sea nymphy ally tub and a alaska 500 i use to have.
