Chat with Coastguard

Had a nice chat with the Coastguard today at Hythe. He told me that a private boat had to be towed in by the lifeboat recently, and the owner only had a mobile phone. NO lifejacket,NO flares, NO radio.

 

 

Here's the best bit. He was an ex RNLI crew member!! I bet his face was redder than a flare

Hello Yakity, yes, but it still beggars belief, you would have thought with all the training etc, he would remember something, like how to stay alive!

A guy who used to work at our place was a RNLI crewman and was regularly towed back in due to a badly serviced engine!!! It's like a mechanics car!!! ha ha
