Don't forget 0800 numbers are chargeable from mobiles too, and thats a pain for me because i've not had a landline for years........no need these days with the amazing deals mobile companies do.

 

On the plus side steve, these geographical versions of 0845 numbers don't know where you are calling from when you call from a mobile! ;-)

 

Its just more rip off Britain isn't it?

The idea is to generate a "missed call" on mobiles, because they know most kids can't face the thought of missing a call and will always ring back. Personally, I wouldn't ring back even if it said "Mum called"!

We too use Phil's idea, but a few months ago I phoned one firm's overseas number (I can't remember the company now) only to be told on a recorded message that it had detected we were calling from the UK and wouldn't connect us!

 

Hmmm!

 

I wonder what would happen if you called the number via Skype Out?
