The crayfish on that film are the white clawed variety an indigenous species that have co existed in harmony with all other aquatic things for thousands of years and represent no problem at all to fish and their reproductive effortsIts the red signals and the turkish ones that are the real danger to fish stocks and eggs but none were shown to be present during that film
