Anyone catching barbel this winter from the River Wye? Couple of weeks left of season!

 

 

I am booked into the Red Lion for a few days before the season ends.

As I have been ill since New Years eve and not been out, I have booked the last 3 days off to try & get out, so hoping for some warmer weather over the next couple of weeks.

Early / late autumn the barbel fishing can be really good on the Red Lion stretch. And the river is beautiful there. Good chub there too on pellet. You cant fish small baits really as the dace are there in large numbers but then again, when they swarm around the emptying feeder they attract bigger fish! And the occasional pike. Happy days!
