**** Adobe!

I have just had the misfortune to buy some software from the Adobe website.

It has taken 2 days of frustration and annoyance but I finally persuaded them to accept my money.

The software was on their US website ands priced at $99.00US. I tried to buy it as a download direct from the US but they wouldn't let me because I am in the UK. Then I tried to buy it from the UK website but every time I got close it just looped back to the US site. This went on for a while. I finally got through to customer service (an achievement in itself) and tried to buy the item but was told that they couldn't sell it to me, I had to buy it online so when I explained that I had been trying to do so he put me through to technical services who looked into it and kept me on hold for 15 mins. When he got back to me his comment was "yeah, mine does that as well. I wonder why it does that?"

Finally this evening I managed to pin it down and found that 99.00 US translated to 69.00 Sterling. (They must have their own exchange rate) They then charged me 5.11 to post a CD and of course VAT on the lot, bringing up my 99.00 dollar download (about 50 quid) to 87.08.

And they wonder why people buy pirate copies

i think you would of been better off getting it off ebay, like a second hand adobe. would of been less hassle.

You are so right.

I have never seen this bit of software on Ebay before but I checked just now and I could have bought an unopened brand new disc from the States for 15 quid
