In a way this is no surprise to me, whilst I am not well qualified to comment,logic tells me that removing this sort of tonnage year after year is bound to cause problems not only to cod but all species.

 

Science is very blinkered sometimes and here is a clear example of how they misjudge the situation.

I fish, I catches a few, I lose a few, BUT I enjoys. Anglers Trust PM

They will say whatever suits the industry and people will say whatever they're told to as long as their pockets are comfortably lined...

Yep, but it's still happening all to often and if it's not our anglers taking the fish it's the foreign vessels that can come as close as the 6 to 12 miles range of our coast...

The government have just come up with a plan that will end the Cod crisis.

 

They are going to re-name all pouting, rockling, dabs, flounders and herrings, and call them Cod. They reckon by this time next year there will be plenty of Cod in the sea.
