Well, commercial fisherman or RSA, don't expect too much.

I've just read one of the biggest pieces of govt. drivel I've read for a long time.

Put a bunch of fresh grads into the civil service, tell them to bodge together a non-committal piece of non-joined up writing about things they know precious little about and this is what you get.

One re-occurring theme is -

'sharing the cost of science, fisheries management and enforcement.'

Regarding what???? The gross salaries of Whitehall civvies who come up with this dross?

There's no actions suggested or planning .... yes, it does say there's another document entitled 'towards an implementation plan'; but what a waste of space this so-called vision is.

No wonder so many fishermen (in the general sense) are so loathe to involve themselves in the politics.

We've got a monstrous layer of bureaucracy in place of effective government today.

It's easier to wade the English Channel than get a sparkle of hope from the twaddle they've dished us up this time!

:(

Free to choose apart from the ones where the trust poked their nose in. Common eel. tope. Bass and sea bream. All restricted.

New for 2016 TAT are the main instigators for the demise of the u k bass charter boat industry, where they went screaming off to parliament and for the first time assisting so called angling gurus set up bass take bans with the e u using rubbish exaggerated info collected by ices from anglers, they must be very proud.

Upgrade, the door has been closed with regards to anglers being linked to the e u superstate and the failed c f p. So TAT will no longer need to pay monies to the EAA anymore as that org is no longer relevant to the u k . Goodbye to the europeon anglers alliance and pathetic restrictions from the e u.

Angling is better than politics, ban politics from angling.

Consumer of bass. where is the evidence that the u k bass stock need angling trust protection. Why won't you work with your peers instead of castigating them. They have the answer.

Recipie's for mullet stew more than welcomed.

Angling sanitation trust and kent and sussex sea anglers org delete's and blocks rsa's alternative opinion on their face book site. Although they claim to rep all.

new for 2014. where is the evidence that the south coast bream stock need the angling trust? Your campaign has no evidence. Why won't you work with your peers, the inshore under tens? As opposed to alienating them? Angling trust failed big time re bait digging, even fish legal attempted to intervene and failed, all for what, nothing.

Looks like the sea angling reps have been coerced by the ifca's to compose sea angling strategy's that the ifca's at some stage will look at drafting into legislation to manage the rsa, because they like wasting tax payers money. That's without asking the rsa btw. You know who you are..

So far we have seen a 20 year vision, an RSA Strategy (draft), a letter to HA hinting at Licences and bag limits. There is certainly a lot going on. There is mention of facilities, slipways, places on sea fisheries committee's (little birdie told me the other day that Binatone is the latest NESFC recruit :o, wonder if his posts here were included in his CV ), artificial reefs, anglers paying for science etc etc etc. But where in all of this is there any mention of the one thing we all want ? More fish ?

Will our angling representatives be pointing out the lack of any real incentives to the powers that be ?

Yep!

But they need those letters to keep going in from anglers to DEFRA and MPs to make them really listen.

(especially with all this talk of election in the air!)

Actually there is a 'log-jam' of RSA issues that DEFRA is sitting on, waiting for the Minister to get his decision of the bass mls out of the way.

(There was a meeting with the Minister at DEFRA yesterday, attended by both angling reps and commercial reps).

I understand that DEFRA officials are getting as frustrated at their inability to make progress on these issues as anglers are, and that must be a first!!
