  1. Man in the shop showed me, you have to use both hands, crack it over your thigh and it falls apart.
  2. http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/coast/tides
  3. Those Lidl offers look good. I fancy the £80 kayak, the paddle and the dry bag!
  4. Choosing a new car is very stressful, my next car will have integral roof rails, but really I'd like a big diesel van so that I can just throw the yaks in the back, and avoid all this strapping business
  5. You've had the yak for 3 weeks and haven't got it wet yet?
  6. there's too many "private" slipways
  7. Fantastic, don't fancy the dolphins slapping my yak about though! Where exactly do you launch from?
  8. Welcome to the club! I love my P13,its a great yak, it cuts through the waves like butter, it's incredibly stable (despite first impressions!). No regrets there, my wife and 3 teenagers all like it too, they paddle it with ease, and no-one has fell out of it yet. Buy the scupper stoppers for a much drier ride, in fact its possible to stay completely dry on a lake, and sometimes on the sea depending how choppy it is. Check the sizes for yourself, cos what it says on the packet is wrong, Mine takes 2 red and 2 green, and they make all the difference. Enjoy!!
  9. short wetsuits in Lidl today for £20, better get there quick, XL was too small for me though :-(
  10. I was told you can tell NZ ones because they have a rough not smooth finish, and the NZ ones are supposedly better, can this be true?
  11. Red one! I fancied getting that, but I chose the Scupper instead.
  12. I fancy getting a wetsuit for summer yakking....do i get the short or the long??
  13. lloydus...sounds great, where did you get it from? Mr Fox...scupper stoppers, 2 red 2 green!

Blue, Red, Green, and White flashing beacons? Would look like something from Close Encounters. I wanna do it for a laugh, except I'd probably fall out
  16. Ta for all replies folks, my bum fits fine, gonna see another couple tomorrow, I'm too impatient to wait for Brookbank Demo Day though! Initially we saw a Venus 10 that my wife liked, but as only she could fit it, I thought it best to get a yak that everyone else can use as well, but I don't want my teenagers falling out unnecessarily. That why I'm proceeding with caution.
  17. Its Pistyll. Just so you can find it on a map!
  18. I'm still torn, looks great, but I'm concerned to hear of Prowler owners falling out of Scupper Pros! I don't want it for fishing, just for leisure paddling.
  19. Have you sat in them to see which is comfier? Will the shops let you have a trial paddle? Otherwise try and get to a meet or a shops demo day. Check out the OK Prowler, there are 4 different fishing versions of that, all very popular! I've never seen the yaks you mention.
  20. commando...ta. So central screws means its a NZ...hmm
  21. SDD Great Yak! Yeah it has 2 screw threads in the middle. Good ruse with the drink cage! The one I've seen has 2 straps on the back, not bungee, and no cupholder, as featured in the OK catalogue, thats why I wondered if it was an old one.
  22. I'm a thirsty paddler! These little details make the difference. I have really enjoyed cold tins of cola, and on my Drifter recently I had tea in my favourite mug. Who doesn't like luxurious paddling?
  23. Says on some sites that the Scupper Pro is for small to medium paddlers, yet I am 6'3" and nearly 16 stone and I seem to fit just right? The one I've seen doesn't have a cupholder or a bungee for a flask...is this an ancient edition?
