i find that if you mix say sweet corn in your ground bait with maggots aswell, place maggots and sweet corn on your hooks, i have found that nice biscuits red maggots,and a touch of aniseed, work wonders, also a few drops of aniseed on the hook bait. casters work on there own, if mixed in with your ground bait just put the casters on the hook, over cast though and slowly bring your hook bait in to the ground bait ball as it breaks, if its for pike the smellier the better, dead mackrel i find are great, and you catch a biggy watch your fingers

sportsman/ & anderoo. so what do you think i should have done sold them the fish, i love this sport to much, this is not the first time that i have thrown someone in, the last time was those animal protection idiots, no one threatens my family or me, and they got arrested for asking to buy the fish off us, i spend a lot of money as i am sure a lot of other anglers do on the propper gear hooks bait etc ,and i abide by the rules. and I DONT SELL THE FISH TO ANYONE. if i am in a match i net weigh and release at the end of the day, if it is a pleasure trip i catch and release straight away.

went fishing at the local lakes last weekend with a friend, two asians came ove rto us and told us they would buy any fish that we caught, we where fishing for pike, from the bank side, we caught a few and low and behold they decended on us like flies around muck, they pestered us for five minutes, we buy we buy, we told them to go away, well words to that effect, they carired on pestering, and there was no bailif, so we took matters into our own hands we threw them both in, in spoilt the fishing in that spot, but we moved on, we saw a bailif and told him what had happened he radioed for help and they both got arrested, they complained that we had throwen them in,but the bailif said they had slipped on the wet banking, not a bad days fishing,twelve pike, four tench, loads of perch, two asians, not bad.

just read about having to buy new keep nets, to protect our carp, i am all for this, but it would be nice to know the price before they hit the shop,s we have a shop close to us, but he charges what he want,s, people who are passionate about fishing, like me will pay his price's, but it would be nice to know it before he does, does anyone know.

you may have a hole in the pond it's self, and rubbish blocks it, then gets moved by the fish, the pond leak's the rubbish moves with the water covers the hole, and the leak stops, this is correct as it has happened to me.

What is the biggest pike that you have ever caught, and where did you catch it, mine was 24 pound and i caught it in the lancaster canal, quite a long while ago. i have caught others but this one what a fight

15 ft by 20 ft by 10ft deep caught a lovely 2 pound chub, a 3 pound perch and plenty of tench,i fish a lot of small pools well we call them pits, there on the farm and with plenty of fish in each, but this is the smallest one of them all.

i go to the local tackle shop and buy pastes that you just add water too, but i have used annaseed drops mixed in as well, and the fish love the thing, the wife makes paste out off nice biscuits, and can she catch perch/roach/tench/carp/,you get the idea and it leaves me

Ihave been sea fishing but never shark fishing, but would like to and i may try next year, but does anyone know what type of gear and line i will need i know i will need steel trace, but what sort of rod, main line, reel,ECT? can anyone help please. :confused:

I to am retired due to injury, but i was a farmer and the injury was iprolapsed two discs in my lower spine, and that was that i was laid up in hospital, and my boss told me that i was missing all the over time, and because i did not recover he told me he would have to let me go, but it was his fault my injury was due to lack of safety on the farm. not badly compensated.
