  1. hi with cheep slave labour hitting this country i see our carp/tench /bream/ pike . are under attack from polish people what can we do about this, they are eating everything, was even talking to one of them [in very good english] he said in warsaw all the fish have gone and the same will happen in the uk.

  3. hi m8 funny you should mention that was in asda's last week and they were selling the stuff at 6p a tin [wasent out of date just wouldent sell] so i bought 20 cans and caught some nice carp not big ones but carp all the same .

  7. lol no problem sir if i was to argue over a 4lb fish that may have been a hybrid or a true fish i deserved to be shot, lol im still laughing at the womans weekly dig , he he thanks again m8. see us scots do have a sense of humor [well apart from glasgow rangers fans ] BUT THATS ANOTHER STORY. tight lines all......chalky. now im after a good tench our record for tench is terrible ,not like the monsters down south. lol mabie have a trip down there any water tips lads??. thanks m8, it was a shock of a lifetime thought it was a small carp or tench, tight lines ....chalky.

  11. well lads i have got something to report just receied a phone call confirming it IS A ROACH AND IT IS A NEW SCOTTISH RECORD , so sorry about the doubters but you were wrong , this was checked by the top fisheries man in the uk, theres no doubt its a roach , so i would like to thank everyones opinions all very much appreciated .......colin.

  13. check out page 7 in todays anglers mail, also got a pretty good e mail from a magazine editor saying in his opinion it IS A 100% ROACH.
  14. a good list of record although the gudgeon record is 8oz not 5oz, it is held by a scottish angler from a water in fife.
  15. hi george, i would use a light test curve rod [carp] a bed of hemp with sweetcorn/maize hair rigged with sweetcorn and arti sweetcorn. but there are many ways to catch them. good luck m8.

  17. hi again heres one of the e mails i got that sounds encouraging - If it is of any help Chalky,the identity can be established by > counting the number of branched rays in the anal fin. > Roach have 9-12, Bream 23-29, while the hybrid is intermediate with > 14-19. > If the specimen has more than 12 such rays it can not be a true Roach. > Looking at your fish its got Roach written all over it. > Well done again m8. > Tight lines Viv.....
  18. hi m8 thanks im getting excited again instead off , ive had a lot of posts here in scotland and almost every one say 100% roach, but knowing my luck ....tight lines ....colin[chalky].
  19. i agree totally very possible there are rudd in there and even bream, but the water has been there for hundreds of years with no reports of rudd bream being caught. but the plot thickens as the last guy said lol.

  23. hello again lads just heard there are NO rudd in the water where i caught the fish OR BREAM , as yet no other photos of roach from the same water....colin whyte [chalky].
