Can any one give me some advice or guidance on charter fishing in Florida? I'm off on a family trip to Disney land next year and I'm desperately trying to get a days big fish fishing (once in a lifetime chance). Now we're staying in Kissimmee and I believe that puts me slap bang in the middle. An hours drive to the sea either way. I'm looking to do pritty much what you would do if you go boat fishing in the UK. The differance being (I hope) bigger fish and warmer weather. I don't mind joining other anglers in fact I'd welcome it as I can not afford to charter a boat on my own. So if anyone can help with pointers or a good recommandation please do. The thought of two weeks of over sincere corperate goo is starting to curl my toes. Tight lines. squibs

Big adam I've got a Diawa Megaforce carbon rod for my multiplier. It's got a tip action and I can send a weight 120 yards with an over head lob. It works for me, not sure what the more expirienced members of A.N would have to say about it, but like I said it works for me. I got it from Lathams, so check out Eltons link if you are interested in that sort of rod. Tight lines squibs

Thanks W.S.F I'll bare that in mind. I've got an ABU 6500 now so I shouldn't need another one for a while, but you never know them being a shiney shiney and all. As for shopping in the states I'm getting the feeling that the tools that are available here are not over there and vise a verser. So I'll have to wait and see. I might look into booking some big fish fishing if I can get it past Mrs squibs. I feel that there's a point when staring at Mickeys inate grin screws the mind up of the most resilent of people. Fishing will be my link to sanity, so here's hoping. squibs

Interesting to find out if you can swing a discount in person? I got my sea rods from there for a fair price. You do have to look out for the quality some times though and if you don't mind seconds (i don't) then thats the place to go. They've been one of the best kept secrits (sorry sp. I've had enough of birds nesting my cheapo reel and so it's time to fork out for a decent reel and running the wraith of the domestic planning authority. It'll be cheaper in the long run, as I'm slowly using up my stock pile off line. That's what I'm going to tell her anyway. I been looking at the Abu 6500 mag elite and the Penn 525 mag. I fish in Norfolk with the annual trip to South Devon, so it's mainly clean bottom fishing. Has anyone got any thoughts on the two reels. I need a reel that will cope with my brawn and ineptitude. Also, can anyone give me some advice on reel general tuning or is it a mythical art and I'm way off the mark, please? Tight lines. squibs

munty Talking to a mate of mine, He reckings that that area can fish a blinder when the storms are blowing hard. Something to do with the area having bay like qualities and the fish come in for shelter and grub. So when the storms are up your luck should be in with any luck. squibs

Munty Bad luck ol' flower. we all know how frustraiting it can be . My wife and kids know to stay well clear of me when that happens. How does it normally fish then? squibs

Sheepy You could also try craft shops as well. I got some half decent wire and goldhead beads from the card making section of the range. You can also pick up things like eyes for damsils. You've just got to think a little out side the box to make it work . squibs

Thanks loopy A lot of wisdom that is well received. The chap started fishing at the very begining of the waters life so I'm sure he is well versed in the waters carateristics. He also fishes alot of ather waters too, so maybe its a case of age and knowledge. Top tip about the tippet and the rate of fall. I shall deffinatly apply it and see what happens.
