  1. I had a job interview at the EA. I think it went well, have rang back a couple of times to see how I got on. The man is getting back to me. Lets keep fingers crossed, only been 7 months so expecting a call very soon... It smacks of incompetence, and that is exactly what this company is. Oh hang on, it's not a company because if it was there's no way it would be in business. Needless to say I have not bought a rod licence and never intend to again. If asked for one I think I could very well push them in the river and then ask why they removed all the fish (except Pike) from my favourite streams and moved them to another river ~ I have since learned that river was polluted by Thames water so they needed to re-stock. Good job all round by yet another incompetent government organisation....
  2. But has anyone found what I call Trout Corner on the WB? I sure hope not, no-one can fail to catch there...
  3. I know of at least 2 people that fish it regularly!!! (I've never seen anyone fish it tho) So far out that stream I've had Pike, Perch, Dace, Roach, Trout, Eel, Bream and even a Flatfish. I usually fish the other side of the bridge and I though the trout were confined to patches but I guess not. Glad to hear fish community alive and well in the streams! Perhaps we should tell the EA there's lots of fish so they can transport them to other rivers in the country??
  4. Hi... I have fished the Canal quite a bit (mainly just to get a piece of quiet), only Tetney lock end. I usually go to the bridge near the oil tanks @ tetney lock (turn into new delights). I have never caught much, 2 fish would be a record, but have got Eel, Trout and Perch. I have seen loads of fish cruising once so there's deffo fish in there, but if anyone has any advice on how to catch these fish I'd be interested...
  5. Jubilee road, dont even know it. Are we talking about Tetney here? If so, how can you not know station road? - it's the road which, unsurprisingly, has the old railway line on it. As for Fulstow, sounds like not worth going back. That old boy there should actually do some tidying up.. As for the Bain, I won't give the magic spot away as took us lots of trial and error involved here, but you can fish anywhere really, especially around Horncastle. Ledger with luncheon meat for those chub, and float fish on maggot for those roach/perch (tho they love the worms too - nothing groundbreaking there). There's also quite a few Pike about in places, not had one out the water and I only know cos my fish and line disappeared in a silver flash ! I wonder if the secret pond was the same I went to the other day - strictly legal, of course... Does anyone fish Croxby pond at all? Or used to.. Trying to find out what happened to it
  6. Some interesting stuff here... Particularly about Fulstow. I went there loads when I was 18-19 (26 now) and never caught much, but I have improved vastly since then - I hope anyway I am wondering if anyone has methods for catching fish in the canal. I keep going back there and have so far caught 1 trout and 1 eel, and that'sit If anyone has any info I can trade in my Bain secrets. I know of spots where never seen anyone fishing and have caught a 3 lb roach, and no roach under 1 lb, lovely chubs and some massive perch. It really is the best rive rI have ever fished. Are people talkng about the pond in the wood down station road? I used to live down there and remember when there was no pond at all, then a pond with no fish but now people say it looks great - I am intrigued
