  1. Blimey! I must say i am 5hite when it comes to big Bream fishing. Big Bream result click here One of three 16lb+ fish in one night..... First ever intended 17lb+ Bream click here I am not worthy, golf anyone?????????????????
  2. Here's a night shot of it.......
  3. "ps Well done Warren, are you back on the ground yet?" I was, then switched species and another result. Check out the Anglers Mail tuesday
  4. Typo error i think Brian, spoke to Phil (Smith), was telling me ealier he and Merv were having a chuckle over it. I'm more than happy with the 7lb 15oz! 7lb 15oz Eel here
  5. Thought the guy had done the old trick of setting the fins up with seperate lines but after zooming in i see the lure still in mouth and line going across front of fish. Nice fish, lovely pic.
  6. And Phil blanks in style, laughed my arse off when he phoned and told me he'd had a mare.
  7. It wernt out of Harefield, was from The Fisheries. Saying that, Harefield has done some rather large Eels.
  8. It aint no record, its a report. Wanna know more? Give me a PM
  9. I think due to the fact that its main organs like liver, heart etc are just behind is head rather than like other fish that are very much deeper and wider with more central organs then a short time on its back should be ok. When i say short i would say no more then 15-20 seconds.
  10. What your doing is right, get fish upside down, firm strokes just under the chin down the body for about 15 seconds or so. You might only get a few seconds though to take a pic but it does work. Had this the other week just under 6lb.
  11. Take a look at this review i did on the c5060 Having had this camera for around 5 months now I can honestly say that it really is a sound investment. So easy to use and the quality is outstanding. I chose this camera after seeing the quality of a mates c5050 last year. I heard Olympus were launching the c5060 Wide and decided to wait and see what the new feature's were. A few new features were added and software updated but in the main the feature that really caught my eye and was one of the main deciding points in purchasing this camera was the multi angles LCD swivel display unit. I wont waffle on but if you do self takes then you will never 'take' a bad one again. Fish welfare in mind too, you just cant go wrong. Tilt the screen over so it faces you and click away (you can see the picture you have just taken for 2-3 seconds after the shot). Compose yourself nicely for each shot and its as easy as that, job done, fish back. 10 outta 10. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Here are the technical specifications: The C-5060 Wide Zoom is a high performance 5.1-megapixel digital camera that features a 4x wide-angle zoom lens with 27mm to 110mm equivalent coverage. It builds on the feature set of the popular C-5050 Zoom and adds a fully articulated colour LCD and improved processing speed. The C-5060 Wide Zoom is a compact camera with a rugged, black, magnesium alloy body that measures a mere (4.6" long x 3.4" high x 2.6" wide, and weighs just 15.2 ounces (without battery or media.) The C-5060 Wide Zoom's advanced settings include controls for aperture priority, shutter priority, and full manual operation and are ideal for experienced photographers who want to take control. Understanding the exposure range of an image being shot is easier now thanks to four special histograms on the C-5060 Wide Zoom. In the new "Direct" setting, the histogram generates red or blue squares atop the image on the LCD to show the light or dark areas of the subject, respectively. A mode dial enables quick settings for an assortment of shooting situations with a turn of the dial. In fully Programmed Auto mode, the camera offers basic point-and-shoot simplicity for flawless picture taking. For photographers who want optimum results in a wide variety of settings, the easy-to-use Scene Programs on the mode dial provides fully automatic exposure adjustments for Night Scenes, Portrait, Landscape Portrait, Sports, and Landscape photography. Eight programmable "MyMode" settings enable users to assign frequently used settings for quick and easy access. The multi-position LCD for optimised image viewing allows you to swivel the LCD in multiple directions: upward from the camera body and swivelling right or left to shoot from the hip or to get the perfect over-the-head shot, or even set up a self-portrait. It also conveniently rotates to hide the LCD and protect it from getting damaged. 5.1-Megapixel CCD for images up to 2592 x 1944 Olympus 4x Wide Angle Zoom lens with 27 - 110mm equivalent coverage Stylish and rugged black magnesium alloy body JPEG, TIFF and RAW image formats Fully adjustable 1.8-inch colour LCD tilts 180° and rotates 230° 3.0 frames/second burst in RAW or JPEG to 4 frames 1.4 frames/second burst in HQ up to 10 frames Auto Exposure Bracketing, 1/3 EV, 2/3 EV and 1 EV, 3 or 5 images iESP multi-pattern AF with Spot AF, Selective Spot AF, Full time AF and Manual focus (with gauge and LCD enlarged view) modes. 12. Its not fishing too well at the moment, saying that the lads had around 120lb of Bream the other day. They were down towards the ornamental bridge, on the far side where there's an out fall. Moor off the bank around 10 yards out, most of the 'bags' have been coming from this general area. We always, on the way down to the boat house take the car down to bridge. You can get a very good viewing point of most of the lake and possibly get a location on rolling fish. Anyhow, good luck, its a stunning place to fish and if your lucks in you'll have a seriously good day. ps, the 'jelly pelly' in the above artical we did really does work well for the Tench when your fishing in or around weed.
  13. Magic Moments - Phil Smith and Stef Horak Magic Moments is the eagerly anticipated new book from Phil Smith and Stef Horak. With a whopping 52 chapters in all this book is truly a must for your book shelf. Phil's chapters resume from his previous book 'Rainbows End' and makes some very enjoyable reading indeed. More stories rather than 'how to do it' but along the way some very informative and eye opening reading. Its not only UK waters, Phil takes you across Europe to Kazakhstan in search of some truly monstrous Catfish onto the Spain's mighty Ebro and then some Carping in Chantecoq. Stef, well what can I say, he has me in stitches every time I see him as does his writing in this book. Again, excellent content from Stef and his writings in the Barbel chapter are a must read along with Ian Welch's 'Kennet Barbel' contribution. Terry Lampard, Andy Brown and Gary Newman also have guest chapters in the book ranging from night fishing for Pike, Avon Roach, and monster Chub. Plenty of colour shots along with black and white. A thoroughly enjoyable and entertaining book. Warren Gaunt Magic Moments by Phil Smith & Stef Horak - £21.99 Hardback Available through Phil on 07980 394864 or from Avon Tackle, Ringwood, J&K Tackle, Bicester or myself via E-mail.
