happy angler

it is a lake ,the water is about 7ft deep and the colour drops out of the water this time of year ,im feeding about 30 grains every 2/3 mins. i know there is pike in but dont see any coming up chasing caught fish and a lot of tench as well.i have been thinking today are the tench moving in ? maybe if i put a caster on i will catch a small perch thats one of the reasons i stick with just hemp.but why would they go for 20 mins and then return.

what is happening ,when im catching quality roach on hemp i seem to get 2/3 fish and they go ,i am putting it down to the caught fish going back to the shoal due to keepnet ban,or is it they are backing off .i have tried up in water thinking they are coming up when feeding without any bites im not putting any casters in only hemp .any advice chaps thanks .

yes it was caught from a flash, old mining pit in the north west.average depth 8ft funny enough the water i will say is 60% tench.in the past couple of years i have had 4 pb's off the venue.im really after my crucian pb which stands currently at 3-9 i do believe they go 4lb + but thats my next target.

bagged myself a pb roach last night 2lb 5oz just topping my previous by 3oz from the same venue,i was fishing hemp and caster catching a few roach up to 6oz then started missing lightning bites.i thought at first they were small fish so put double caster on and i missed a bite next put in resulted in this .

the only flavour i have found that works on corn is rod hutchinson maple creme and this is for tench,i used it on a water the first time and caught tench straight away.told my mate the next time we went he tried it and got one so we tried on another venue and it worked on there last year i had some good results using it but only were tench were present.
