  1. rigged correctly you wont have a problem.i use a 1.5kg grapnal with 2ft of chain, rigged up with a small cable tie.if i get snagged it trips lovely.got to use the 1.5 because of the tide run is strong where i fish.
  2. my advise would be not to bother.two of my mates came out fishing with me on their inflatable.what a nightmare.they couldnt anchor up so they tied off on mine, and i had to tow them back about a mile against the tide.oh and they were going around in circles most of the time.had some nice smoothhound though.
  3. there's a good mark off mumbles, usually show july to sept.it's good for bream too.small strong hooks,i use size 2 or 4 circles with rag or squid strip.
  4. one bit of advice i would give you, dont go alone unless its a small tide in a sheltered bay.safety first at all times.it's more fun with other people anyway, lots of banter.there are a few new kayakers in this area,we just all need to meet up one day.
  5. totally different experiance than fishing off my boat.those smoothy's dont half pull your string on a light bait casting outfit.good fun with the kayak turning around in the tide.
  6. it was a good day.at least your reel survived, lol.wouldnt rate it's chances with a smoothy though.
  7. asked for that one. lol nevermind a least i know i can get back on ok.
  8. speak for yourself old boy,i for one don't intend to get wet.oh unless you count the stuff falling from the sky lol.cant wait.
  9. hi martin, newton sounds great.will let you know as soon as were all geared up.
  10. sounds good having a regular s.wales meet.me and my mate taking delivery of 2 new tridents next week.we will be fishing oxwich a lot. both from bridgend area.
