  1. I have bought from willy worms....the service is fine and the worms are great!! give em a go.
  2. OK all, thanks. I think ill try an 8lb main to a 7lb low diam hooklength. If my elastic isnt as loose as it should be (if it isnt, it aint far away) then surely all this does is reduce the available stretch. When i rigged the elastic, i pulled the elastic about 8 inches out. So in theory, if it is too tight, all ive lost is 8 inches of stretch?? is that not right?
  3. It broke at the 4lb hooklength. I assume that if they sell 6m margin poles, they are ok for the margins? similar sorts of advantages to fishing at 11 or 14 or 16m i think. Dunno.
  4. its the other way round.....20 is the strongest
  5. Kojak: What are the rules on the lake? bans etc? Cheers.
  6. Ive seen people put the tip of their rod undeer the water a couple of feet then whip it up quickly......this doesnt seem to work for me unless im doing it wrong?
  7. I have been fishing far out alot lately either on the top or just under the surface. The problem is sinking my line after casting. y the time i manage to sink it, the float is about half the distance i originally cast. I want to be able to cast tight to the far bank and not have to pull the float back to sink the line. Any suggestions? could it be solved with the right type of line? Thanks.
  8. I recently bought a 6m margin pole for some close in carping. Its rigged with 20 elastic. I used it at the weekend and i was fishing6lb to 4 lb hook length. I was broke off twice. What mainline and hooklength should i be using with a 20 elastic? Thanks.
  9. Bloody hell Kojak thanks alot!!!! yes it is the Star. Wow. I only have an 11m pole. I was originally thinking of feeder fishing and using a margin pole close in. Do you recommend a bomb rather than a feeder? Is it sufficient to just fish the hook bait without any feed? Thanks alot for the info, Ill let you know how i do.
  10. white.. it looked like some sort of albino apart from the pale pink back. very pretty fish mind.
  11. Thanks, ill find out for sure. I think its teh same as last time we fished it. Its toward the back and to the right as you enter the venue.....theres another pond below it, if that makes sense.
  12. Went fishing on sunday....had a good day despite the weather...Was catching quite a few rudd about 1.5-2 lbs each...had a couple of carp, a tench and even a barble! I also had one fish that i had no idea what it was.....it was all white but with a very light pink back?! It was probably a pound or so in weight....any ideas what it was?
  13. They have a sale on aswell at the minute!
  14. Got the first match of our season on Raker Lakes (Wheldrake)this saturday. Has anyone fished it recently or have any info on what baits are doing well etc? Thanks, Dave. [ 09. June 2003, 07:46 PM: Message edited by: dizidave ]
  15. I have the same problems with the kinking of hi-tec lines. I use the Middy Lo-viz lines which i like. Ive simply changed over my tying tactics and use the knotless knot without the hair. Ive used these hooks and caught ten pounders on them.....they never look like budging. If your scared they might come loose just dab a bit of superglue on the knot. Perfect hooks to hi-tec line every time.
  16. Thanks for that Wag.....tackle ordered )
  17. Does anyone know where i can buy "Enterprise Takle" products online without having to go through the stone age process of printing out a form and filling it in? they must lose so much business because of this.....why dont they just provide online ordering? Anyway, i am looking for the adjuster-links.....look like a great idea.
  18. Ive never fished it myself but i know a guy that has. Apparently its fishing great, especially tench. I think its free?!
  19. David, Does it produce alot of worms? Do you find you can take worms out of it frequently and still keep them breeding etc? I am mainly wanting something that i can use for composting and creating worms for fishing. Thanks.
  20. I bought some worms online the other week. Received teh worms ok, and they were fine. However, a week later, when i came to use em again, they were one big dead slimy ball. Can anyone point me in the direction of a good "caring for worms" article, so that my worms wll last once i have bought them. I think the problem was too many worms and not enough soil. Any suggestions.
  21. Thats one hell of a float your painting there!
  22. Hi all, Anyone in the area fished Rother Valley Country park? If so im looking for a bit of info and Im considering going there this weekend. Is it day ticket? Where do you fish? What species? Does it fish well? etc Thx in advance.
  23. Last weekend i pulled out quite a decent Perch. When i came to unhook it, i noticed a very old looking barbed hook (about no 14) just inside its mouth. I managed to get the hook out before i released it back. Felt great after doing it.
  24. Well, heres my method/recipe anyway... I take however many slices of bread...usually about 6 or 8. Cut off the crusts. Run a couple of slices quickly under the tap, so they are wet on one side, but not soggy. then get all the bread together and start working it.....breaking and rolling and kneading etc... Eventually it starts to become one. I then add grated cheddar. I find that this not only adds flavour but puts oil into the mixture which helps it bind and become more workable. when my dough is of the right consistency, ie when its uniform and smooth, i sometimes mix some silly bait (red or black) into it adding a little water if the dough becomes too dry. I have had some great success with this paste!
  25. Went fishing at the canal on saturday...lovely day. Set up and in teh water for about 10am....I was fishing maggot and caster with some silly bait groundbait. It starte doff well, catching a few perch roach and half decent rudd. I was doing the usual tactics, loose feeding maggots every few minutes...6-12 maggots at a time. Come mid day, it really slowed down and infact stopped. Now i know this is quite normal and that things do die off mid-day but it never came back on again. i continued to loose feed etc, and it never came back right up to me stopping at about 5pm. Any ideas what i did wrong here? too much feed maybe? thx.
