  3. lol hello Brian gis a clue then.........just joined the wilton club but the lad who has taken over wasnt to sure of where the stretches are excatly.........was down yarm the other day and the terrible twosome had been there bivvied out all night piking now thats commitment it must have been minus 4 daytime so god only knows what it was through the night!!!!
  4. hi all just wondering if any one knows which stretches of the river tees you can fish if your a member of this amalagamation??? cheers Mick.
  5. thanks for your input guys Wayne i know what your sayin about finding a hotspot easier said than done sometimes though as im sure you know,im not sure whether the pike would take a live over a easy meal of a dead?? its one to ponder most pedators will pick of the injured old or dying as it saves them using energy, but as to wot appeals to a pike more i dont know, Dales there was a article in anglers mail sometime ago where Ian welch used chopped up fish in a feeder whilst piking to some good affect but even then he didnt have anyone to comprare his results too either, in my eyes anything thats gives you a chance of puttin more fish on the bank is at least worth a go. Brian replied to ya in other forum mate Cheers Mick.
  6. Hi All Ive been out and about on the bank on my local river with mixed results,as in blanked a few days then couple of pike between 9 and 11 lb on the days inbetween, dont know what you guys think of this method ive started using with some success, instead of the lead wieght i sometimes use a feeder with maggot instead, My thinkin behind this is the maggots will attract the silvers which in turn will attract the pike,i have had results doing this but ive not actaully carried out any sort of comparison catch rate?? just be interested to here if anyone else does this,i have and do normally also spray maggots around where i think my bait is lying for the same affect but i feel using a feeder is much more accurate and gives me that little bit more confidence as i know the maggots are being dispersed more or less on top and around my dead bait, whats your views???
  7. Well done Dave that certanley is some achievment, im wondering now you mention AM needing more variety is that why weve had three weeks of sea fishing tips using coarse gear?? or are the boys just on a seaside jolly Cheers Mick.

Cheers Mick.

  12. I stand corrected i always get that fact muddled up as i was typing i was umming and arring to think was it lower or higher, still i think i got the point i was tryin to make across, next time ill stay clear of the science bit newt
  13. Couldnt agree more with Waynes excellent advice the only thing i would add to that is to give the fish time plenty of time to recover especially at this time of year when oxygen levels in the water are higher which tends to make the pike fight harder than normal, pike me look like tough fish but in fact they are one of the most delicate fish and are easily damaged so be very careful with them when handling, i would really suggest as wayne says to go with a experienced piker, apart rom all that enjoy yourself.
  14. I also have the first three and have been eagerly awaiting these realeses its just a shame it never got took up by any of the main tv chanels i think that the way it has been filmed would have appealled to non anglers as well just as a nice watch!! dont know if anyone has seen caught in time with Chris Yates i think it was a prequil or maybe even a sequil to passion but its also a great watch if you ever get the chance to see it .

  16. Hi All im new to the site so not sure if im posting this in the right area but here goes neways......Im hoping you can help me im lookin for a touring caravan/campsite within about a hours or so drive from Teesside that has a water that holds Pike ive searched the web and asked on camping forums ive found plenty that have lakes on them but most dont list what is stocked and it would cost me a small fortune to ring them all and ask so as i say im hoping some one here can point me in the right direction. Also im thinking of heading over to the lakes in a few weeks time, ive been told that ulswater holds no pike but several of the other lakes do the obvious being windermere,is it possible to fish for them from the bank as im tryin to keep costs down and dont really want to hire a boat, i know im askin for a lot of info but it really will be apprecciated. Cheers Mick.
