  1. In my younger days i used to creep over to the local golf course with a torch late at nite when the worms come out and have a tug of war with the lobs.is anyone still doing this?? used to get enough for a couple of trips and put them in moss to toughen up a couple of days before i was going fishing. THERE IS A KNACK TO PULLING THEM OUT OF THEIR HOLES. DONT PULL TOO HARD OR THEY BREAK IN HALF.
  2. i woundnt dilly dally Eaglet. youve heard from the experts who live there. 3 yrs ago i could have bought a 3 bed house for £15000. now its £45000 for something half decent. Im not waiting any longer and im in the process of buying a small house in a village near the river. he who hesitates is lost so they say. My advise to you is get over to Catalunya area and Valenciana.Get some good maps and do bit of exploring.
  3. As Budgie said its hot enough in Catalunya.Have been there 3 times this year and its been baking. I would imagine the winter is a releif. i would advise Catalunya because as well as the Ebro you have the Segre system 2 hours north from there and its teeming with fish. p.s. you dont catch many fish in bars

  7. Hello there and I think ive misled all of you?? The prob is when the rod is joined together and flexed there is a knocking noise and its the ferrules not fitting tite together. It still happens when i push the ferrules as close together as i can. I await your advises. tite lines Danny
  8. poledark are you saying that i rough up the male ferrule to make it fit tighter?? tite lines Dan
  9. Ha Ha Spindle but you are wrong there. its the thousands of Chub and Dace and Roach caught in the River Avon years ago plus a few carp from the Ebro too. We may be at cross purposes here. The ferrule is loose when joined together and im worried the top may fly off when i cast. tite lines and await your advice. Dan
  10. Years ago we used to use a small bit of rubber. it was black on the outside and white inside. it never came off and the fish never knew the difference. tite lines Danny
  11. Spindle i thought candle wax made it looser??? Can u confirm?? tite lines dan
  12. When I join the rod together andflex it there is a small knocking sound. The top joint ferrule fits a bit loose in to the butt joint and that is causing the noise. Any guys out there with a remedy. tite lines Danny

  21. You surprise me there Mr. Rudd seeing you are a close relation to the Roach I thought youd like the purple berry. But it may be the still water thing?? Dont give up or try to make some Elderberry wine HIC HIC
  22. good god zappa you must be nearly as old as me,but im glad you confirm this bait is the NUTS. do you know if you can get it in cans or jars???
  23. This is a deadly combination which i have used for many years especially in the Thames for roach. When you are fishing hemp on the hook and the bites are coming thick and fast, put an elderberry on the hook and normally the size of the roach or dace doubles as if by magic. the fish go crazy for the purple berry. the only prob you can only pick em around autumn time, so make a note and try this way of fishing. Anybody out there can you confirm im not mad and am right?
