  1. Hi Folks I'm heading for Snowdonia during the summer, mainly for the climbing, but is anyone familiar with the coarse fishing available. Esp interested in any good spots for Pike. Are the Snowdonia lakes any good for that ? Any suggestions most welcome. Bye
  2. Not been there but this is on a Normandy web site: Hope it helps: La See (nr. Avranches): A very popular river for Salmon. There is even a public fishing area. Typical catches: Salmon, Trout. Fishing season is limited with the "First Class" part of the course open from 13 March to 19 September. Salmon & Sea Trout fishing season is 13 March to 31 August (13 March to 31 March: fishing with lures only; 1 April to 14 July: all types of fishing allowed; 1 August to 31 August: Fly-fishing only).
  3. Only bit of the Oxford Canal I know is south of Kidlington towards Oxford. Is that where you're headed. There's chub and carp and bream in there as well as good sized perch. Never had any pike though.

    Question

Yes I know what you mean about the Bleak being great for the kids. I took my son and daughter, aged 7 and 9, one afternoon, and they had over 100 in 90 minutes between them . I just did the unhooking.
  5. Thanks again DG I suppose if you'd told me exactly where to put the bomb, it would take all the fun out of it. I'll let you know how I get on.
  6. Never tried touch legering....just a small free running weight on the line ?? Any particularly good pegs at tadpole you might suggest. Is it the near bank or do I need to get the bait over to the far bank. Thanks for your tips.
  7. Thanks for that DG. Is T Bridge any good for Chub ??
  8. Thanks. I'll try it all out.
  9. Thanks. I'll try it all out.
  10. Fished the Thames [Tadpole Bridge near Oxford if anyone knows it] earlier this week. Early morning for close to 3 hours or so. Floating maggots, size 20, close to full depth. Caught bleak, and only bleak, by the bucketful. Now I'm certain there's plenty of other stuff in there, but how should I catch them ?? Any tips welcome !!
  11. Bleak. That way I'll catch something else.
  12. There are coarse fishing lakes at Wood Farm , which is between Lyme regis and Charmouth. Carp and tench and Perch and Roach

Thanks. So the stuff I've got just mixes up with groundbait, or just chuck it in soaked in water. I've just got maggots as hookbait...will that still work.
