  6. Over five thousand years ago Moses said to the children of Israel "Pick up your shovel, mount your asses and camels, and I will lead you to the promised land." Nearly 50 years ago, Harold Wilson said, "Lay down your shovels, sit on your asses, light up a camel; this is the promised land." Then Gordon Brown stole your shovel, taxed your asses, raised the price of camels and mortgaged the promised land. Now David Cameron has raised my fuel bills, increased VAT to 20% and is threatening to sell off our promised land. I got so depressed last night I called the Samaritans, they diverted my call to a call centre in Pakistan. I told them I was suicidal. They got all excited and asked if I could drive a truck!

  19. i used sensor for years until i got a bad couple of spools which kept breaking well below the stated braking strain supposed to be 12lb but line braking with a small perch and roach around the 1 & 1/2 lb this happened about 10 to 15 times in one day so i sent the stuff back got a full refund as i didn't want the same line dont get me wrong diawa still make some good kit but i have lost confidence in the sensor line .
  20. now that depends on your skill as an angler and other factors like how the fish behaves when hooked/snags etc i know of fish up-to 40lb landed on 12lb mainline
  21. been using this Ultima Pure Power Fluorocarbon Line for about 3 months now spooled up with 16 lb for France big fish there over here i use 12 lb not cheap but good casting to over 140 metres with a 3oz lead and it sinks pretty fast unlike most of the mono lines .
  22. ALERTS TO THREATS IN 2011 EUROPE The English are feeling the pinch in relation to recent events re bin Laden and in Libya and have therefore raised their security level from "Miffed" to "Peeved." Soon, though, security levels may be raised yet again to "Irritated" or even "A Bit Cross." The English have not been "A Bit Cross" since the blitz in 1940 when tea supplies nearly ran out. Terrorists have been re-categorized from "Tiresome" to "A Bloody Nuisance." The last time the British issued a "Bloody Nuisance" warning level was in 1588, when threatened by the Spanish Armada. The Scots have raised their threat level from "Pi*s*d Off" to "Let's get the Bast*rds." They don't have any other levels. This is the reason they have been used on the front line of the British army for the last 300 years. The French government announced yesterday that it has raised its terror alert level from "Run" to "Hide." The only two higher levels in France are "Collaborate" and "Surrender." The rise was precipitated by a recent fire that destroyed France's white flag factory, effectively paralyzing the country's military capability. Italy has increased the alert level from "Shout Loudly and Excitedly" to "Elaborate Military Posturing." Two more levels remain: "Ineffective Combat Operations" and "Change Sides." The Germans have increased their alert state from "Disdainful Arrogance" to "Dress in Uniform and Sing Marching Songs." They also have two higher levels: "Invade a Neighbour" and "Lose." Belgians, on the other hand, are all on holiday as usual; the only threat they are worried about is NATO pulling out of Brussels . The Spanish are all excited to see their new submarines ready to deploy. These beautifully designed subs have glass bottoms so the new Spanish navy can get a really good look at the old Spanish navy. Australia , meanwhile, has raised its security level from "No worries" to "She'll be alright, Mate." Two more escalation levels remain: "Crikey! I think we'll need to cancel the barbie this weekend!" and "The barbie is canceled." So far no situation has ever warranted use of the final escalation level.
