  1. Sorry John but I don't think you are getting isotopes at that price. Well my friend last year lidl’s were selling them in a box of 50’s colours red, blue and yellow for £2. (needless to say they sold out very quick) You can get them in at least 2 sizes mini which you get 2 in a packet and the other size you get 1. Starlight are the most popular but other makes are now sold. They are designed to fit on midi floats, pull the top out and the starlight takes its place. They also of course fit your swingers or bobbings. Forgot to say at the same time they were selling in a plastic case 4 remote bait alarms compleat for I think it was either £25 or £30 the same are sold on e-bay for £60. NEXT TIME they have fishing tackle on special offers I will post on here and let you all know. Most is well rubbish but a few things are great
  2. I sometimes use them and yes they come in I think 3 colours and 3 sizes. They last about 7\9 hours. Got mine cheap from Lidles £2 for 50 last year.
  3. What I use to do was put tape over the sound hole when my volume switch parted company lol
  4. Dont know about anyone else but I have no objection to being disturbed by an alarm when someone has a run. What does get my back up is when guys are connecting there swingers or setting up, Oh and having the alarms set far too high in the first place.
  5. As You already know a pm sent (just so everyone knows I replied to you lol)
  6. Anyone fancy a cheap fishing trip to France? Sometime in April, say 2nd week. Its a new venue for 2007 situated in Brittany, 5 acres, stocked with Carp to 35lb, Cats to 50lb plus Pike to 20lb+ other fish. Drive and survive although it has a hut with small cooker, fridge, table & chairs, settee and washing etc but no electric. The cost of the venue is £400 for the week exclusive. 3 of us Travel from Portsmouth in Volvo Estate on a Friday 11pm overnight ferry with sleeper seat is £61 each. Total cost each £220 plus bait and food, share fuel costs. More than happy to look at other venues around the same price. I will borrow my mates Volvo Estate but have to insure it for EU use which is included in the price above.
  7. Dont have one myself but a mate has one and its a great bit of kit.
  8. Any baits work at Willow But if you want to target the Carp then stick with boilies as the main lake is well stocked with all types of fish. This time of year as already said is NOT the best time to start Carp fishing. Best wait till the spring when the water starts to warm up and the Carp start moving around and feeding more. Not saying you wont catch this time of year but it is much harder that’s all. If I was taking anyone new to Carp fishing Willow is the place I would take them. Take advice from the owners in the on site tackle shop, Good luck
  9. Well mate you should try Willow Park not far from you a place called Ash. Excellent sport and a great place to get into Carp fishing.
  10. What type of lakes are you after? Hlso how far can you travel?
  11. I would go for Shimano every time, had mine for over 10 years now and still work as good as new. I keep thinking I will replace them (3) but then think "What for they still do everthing new ones do". When I do it will be with Shimano's
  12. I have already booked the venue for 8 of us, the venue is near Le Mans from Sat 9th June 2007. It has 2 lakes a 14 acre, exclusive to our party plus a 4 acre. It is English run and has a restaurant\Bar, showers and toilets. It is safe to say this is a runs water with lots of carp in the mid 20's but cats go over 100lb. (I fished it last August). I have space in my Volvo (the others are going by mini bus) for 1 who would like to join us for the fishing but who would like to stay on a few extra days with me to watch the Le Mans 24 hour race. The cost of fishing is £130 (give or take a £) plus bait, food and travel, (travel about £150) Food package breakfast & evening meal is £80. I will be leaving on the Friday 8th 23:00 hour overnight ferry from Portsmouth (cabin included) and return Monday 18th. (So you will have to make your way to my house, nr Portsmouth). I treat my French trips as a bit of a holiday so the social side is important. So you must be social able person, like a laugh with a good bunch of guys. You don't have to be an expert in Carp or Cat fishing in fact this would make an ideal 1st trip to France for someone and happy to give advise. The deposit has already been paid but once you have had all the details then I will require half the cost of the ferry as I will book that then. We would need to speak on the phone or Skype. Please no replies unless you can make the dates and you are 100% interested. More than happy to give the Web Site details to anyone who asks.
  13. We have exchanged a few pm's before. Well if you are still interested next year then happy to take you with me as long as I meet at least 1 of your parents (so they know you will be safe) beforehand. John
  14. Off to France (2 of us) for my 3rd trip this year. Only a small lake very well stocked with Carp over 30lb and big Tench and most other fish. Good Accommodation fully fitted. Leave 24th Sept Sunday overnight ferry from portsmouth, return Mon 2nd Oct. Price includes exclusive use of venue and travel. £300. Only food and bait extra. This will be an ideal trip for anyone who has not been to France or anyone who likes to catch more than just Carp but of course you can just go for the Carp as tts a runs water and the Carp should have started feeding up for the winter. John PM me please.
  15. Always good to hear when a person gets a pb no matter what size the fish is. Not fished the venue myself and I only live on Hayling Tight Lines
  16. Nope. Give it permission and click to tell it to remeber it, do that for all you want to allow
  17. I am selling my Pro-Cat bait boat complete with 3 batteries, fast charger, 45 minutes then cuts off so no over charging-12v or mains. AT carry holdall that alone is £40). 100% working order. Used last week in France. £300ono+p&p. Or can be picked up from Portsmouth area or Aldershot 15th-17th Sept as I will be fishing willow park
  18. I will shortly be selling my red 1.5 Hyundai S-Coupe MVI Auto, registered 11-03-94 (L) and I have owned it since new. It has done less than 75,000 miles, MOT till end of May 07 and taxed till end of August. It is, and has been a very reliable car and has never let me down. It is in very good mechanical order as is the interior, excIept for the driver seat which has a few pulled threads where my comb has pulled them, O and the clock it has a mind of its own. I had a new cam belt fitted 2 months ago. The body work has a few scrapes on the side plastic panels and the usual stone chips, no cracks in the plastic bumpers, and there is no rust anywhere on the car, well I cant find any. The rear seats are 60\40 split and the boot is not too bad, well it takes all my fishing gear including a fold up barrow. It comes complete with hand books but the service book was lost years ago but it has been looked after. Happy to send a few photos by e-mail but please only if you are really interested. I am looking for £700 but open to a sensible offer. PM if you want to know anymore details. John EDIT Sorry sold same day I posted this
  19. They are very sensitive go up in 1 oz. Also when you weigh something they will lock for a while so you can easy read the weight. Only 1 point although it says 55lb I think it is 44lb. They are very neat and compact, nice size reading scale. It does say they are accurate to + -10gram. I tried them out on a number of known weights and they were spot on! For the price I think they are excellent.
  20. If anyone is interested in these digital scales I can vouch for them. Very neat, well made and accurate. Not a bad price either, lb and kg up to 55lb http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...Y_BIN_Stores_IT
  21. Flower dropping off is usually caused by birds picking them off, very unlikly for it to be caused by a bug or lack of water.
  22. Thanks for that I appreciate it and you are 100% correct. I thought why not offer the position to a fellow angler. Some of the remarks made regarding my post are well well beyond words. My company has been trading for over 30 years using the same name. I was the sales manager for over 10 years before I took over the business when the owner retired 6 years ago. No we do not sell coatings to people who do not either require it or want it. In fact all our sales come from customers who require a quotation, they contact us! Neither do we try to get them to sign an order on the day\night. Yes the job is well paid, but believe me you work hard for it. John EDIT No I will not name the company on here.
  23. I will never talk about income apart from it being well over £50,000 per year, but it depends on the individual. We do NOT practise the tactics used by double glazing companies etc. In fact try it and you are out! If anyone is genuine interested then pm me. Nothing will be talked about in an open forum. John
