  1. Looks like a good place to go on an adventure. Not been to Australia before but it is definitely one of the places I will visit during my lifetime.
  2. I think they look pretty good. Just in time for Halloween. I don't understand the £2000 to restore them though.
  3. Made me laugh. I told the misses, she didn't seem too impressed.
  4. LOL I like how you say "gives me" Most people I know who gamble give their money to the bookies!
  5. Hi All, Been away a while so not been able to reply. I have read through the thread though and thanks to everyone for their input and I will be trying out some of the ideas as soon as I get a chance One question I do have though is about the following comment. Just out of interest is it possible to mix two types of groundbait say, a carp groundbait with a silverfish groundbait, to make a catch anything groundbait?? Or would the introduction of some of the ingredients in either put the fish off? I do not plan on trying this at the moment, just more out of interest.
  6. Well at the moment I have about half kg of The Source groundbait and half kg of Dynamite Baits Silver X Canal & lake groundbait. I'm looking for anything I can bulk these out with to make them last longer. Im not fussed if it involves any prep or just something to mix straight in. By pet food do you mean dog biscuits ground up. If so do I grind these up as they are or do they need prep? Also what ratio would i mix it at? And would this still be useable on the method feeder? Chris
  7. What is a cheap way to bulk out your groundbait. I have a bit left and I am looking to bulk it out cheaply All ideas welcome
  8. Hi all. I plan on fishing my local canal tomorrow using bread to see what happens. Im a bit unsure about ways to use bread when float fishing and shot patterns etc. Any info would be great. Thanks.
  9. Have you ever been waiting for some post that has never arrived?? http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/mobileweb/..._n_1922340.html
  10. Hi all. I have been looking into different types of line and I've began to get a bit confused. I hear of types such as monofilament, braided and all that comes between but I think I've over complicated things. Can someone please explain the different types of line and their uses. Thanks in advance!
  11. Well today wasn't a blank but it could have been a lot better! I arrived early this morning with high hopes as the water seemed alive. So I set up my method feeder and started with corn on the hair.. Within the first few hours I managed a decent-ish sized carp and by far my biggest bream I have ever caught. Unfortunately, like an idiot I didn't check the batteries in my camera and what flashes up as I try to take a picture. "battery exhausted". So no pictures for the album today. After a while it started to get busy. A lad who was no where near my peg somehow even managed to cast across my line with a mahoosive pva bag. Cheers! After this it seemed to go quiet with the lad with the pva bag even going home with no catches. I switched to luncheon meat at some point but with no success. My mate decided to pay a visit in the afternoon and was using 10mm boilies with a strawberry glug and in the few hours he was there managed a nice common carp and one of the apparant rare tench that live there. I changed my tactics to the boilies he was using but again, no success. One lesson I did learn was to be more prepared as two guys arrived and surface fished bread which resulted in a good bag of carp. I however, did not have my surface fishing kit else I would have changed tactics. I tried freelining but could not get out to where they was feeding. Bring on round two
  12. I wee'd a bit just watching it! Now my pantys need specialist cleaning!
  13. On the method feeders I have, the swivel that connects the mainline to the hooklength sits nice and snug into the feeder so it's basicly fixed, which if i am understanding correctly willc reate the bolt effect I am going to be using my quivertip rod. I'm not too sure what strength tip to use but I won't be casting at any sort of distance so I thought I would start with a 1oz tip and see how it works out and switch if needed.
  14. 3-4" it is then. I think Phone had seen the picture in the link I left. It was a picture of all the things used to tie all of the different rigs it shows. I am all prepared and ready to go now. I will post tommorow after I have been fishing and let you all know how I got on! Hopefully get my Carp pb and a picture to go with. Wish me luck!
  15. I will be sure to give iit a try.
  16. Right, I have decided to listen to Sportsman and go with the method feeder to begin with. I have sorted my groundbait and I'm going to leave the boilies to begin with and have packed a tin of sweetcorn and luncheon meat like Nicepix advised. What length hooklength would be a good starting point when using the method feeder?
  17. Whats the difference between the brown and white crumb? Apart from ones white and ones brown
  18. If i was to use a method feeder with corn on the hair, what would be the best thing to mould around the method as feed? Apologies if I ask any stupid questions
  19. Hi all. I have found a pool by me which holds a good head of carp so I am planning on paying a visit 2moro. Firsty though, this is the first time I have gone out to target carp so I want to keep it as simple as possible to begin with. The rig I am going to use is the basic mono rig as described on this page. http://www.masterblanker.com/2010/02/24/be...g-carp-fishing/ A couple of questions I have are: What strength line would be sufficient for this rigs mainline and hooklength? What size/type hook should I use when using 10mm boilies? Thanks. Chris
  20. Never heard of someone having all their fingers pulled off before! If it was me I would have my middle finger re-attached , so then I could give that rope the sign!
