I have to agree that it would be good to see skippers from around the country being given space to share their experiences (promote their business). It would also allow those of us who don't live in the south to see what's available.

Does anyone know where I can buy a kid's size flotation suit/waterproofs? In the ads in the angling press there only seems to be adult sizes.

Does anyone know why this term is used for these wee pictures? Even given the definition above, I can't see the relevance. The incarnation of a god?

Thanks for your replies folks. I was a bit vague with the west coast wasn't I? I live in West Kilbride in North Ayrshire, but I haven't fished much during the winter for a few years. I've only recently got back into it. The Firth of Clyde where I stay used to be a good source of many species but seems to be pretty poor nowadays - so I hear anyway. Apparently years of trawling has depleted the stocks of cod, for example, so that there's not much left for us. By the list of venues you've suggested though, maybe it's not so bleak after all.

I agree that this is a very worthwhile idea. The RNLI is in my opinion our very much overlooked emergency service who don't get the same recognition as the public sector services.

Does anyone know if there are any decent shore fishing spots around the west coast at this time of year? There doesn't appear to be much in the way of reports for this area.

I've tried out most of this type of software over the past couple of years and the one I've found to be streets ahead of all others is Cyberscrub, (www.cyberscrub.com). I used it on a 30 day free trial and then I bought the full version. It costs $30, but if you are really looking for a program that does what it says on the tin, this is the only one that works, in my experience.
