  1. hello gaffer! many angling methods get restricted due to the ignorance of the minority. unfortunately carp angling attracts its fair share of neanderthals who ruin things for the rule abiding folk. who would ban method feeders due to the weight imposed on a carps mouth? do they ban you from striking and playing them too? the groundbait breaks down. whats wrong with using heavy leads? how can a method feeder damage a carps mouth more than a 6oz lead or a scrap all the way to the net? madness. gaffer, come fish a proper pond..... **sam** fish safe kids!
  2. hello terry! i get twist with braid, especially whilst winching. you need a glove or finger stall cos it will slice to the bone on the big casts! 178 yards, 1 yard, if they are there, you can catch them..... fish safe! **sam**
  3. hello elton! i nicked some from gaffer ages ago! it dissolves pva and tastes nice! try cutting it with condensed milk.... **sam**
  4. hello gaffer! lost a fish on opened raptors myself this year. only the one. also bent a talon tip but landed the fish. eagle waves mate! **sam**
  5. unless you put the rods out first! get a cheap profile if your finances will stretch that far. till them, let the brolly have the hacksaw treatment! **sam**
  6. i totally agree. either scale down and fish lighter, or make them have it with a 5oz ball bomb pushed onto a short length of silicone. the fish must be able to lose the lead, yet the lead must still pull the hook home. with lighter leads, fish slacker lines and sink as much line as you can. fish for bites with light bobbins, or just watch the line. i would go for the lighter lead option and fish smaller hooks until i caught whatever it was. hope this helps. frostie, spot on! **sam**
  7. nuts! i caught some huge bream from the boat pool on tiger nuts this week. i see no issue really with buying them ready prepared as you can these days. it reduces the chance that of some noddy using uncooked tigers. i have caught a lot of carp on tigers and use them all the time. prepared correctly and used wisely they are a top bait. less is more, and it is not my usual tactic to 'heave the tigers in' which results in bans on some waters. hi steve, regarding banning of nuts on wingham, i see your point, but if an angler is using them in small amounts or single baits, would you perceive them to be a problem? i totally see your reasoning for banning them on waters where carp compete for food. the fish come first. how badly would / does the growth rate suffer if fish live on tigers? isnt there natural food in most waters to supplement anglers baits? are they not fickle creatures who eat most edible things they come across, regardless of nutritional value? **sam**

  9. its all down to personal choice, but i trust gr60, big game and sensor. for braid, gr500 is worth a look at. for mono it has to be the gardner stuff. casts well and tough as old boots. 15lb could pull the plug out of the thames! be lucky! **sam**
  10. LOL terry! gaffer, you can always slum it down the road at horton with us lot. but then again, *i* would brush up *my* act to fish the syndicate pit. **sam**
  11. sorry gaffer, i will ensure the swims are free from loose debris the next time you fish with us. i suggest you use "bank stick skins" to help keep your banksticks clean and fresh. atb **sam**
  12. try the carp company popups as well. flouro pink squid 12mm. mmmm! lovely! good luck, i find they work best when cast at rolling fish. cracking open water single hookbaits too! **sam**
  13. catch at all costs brigade? i doubt soaping a swim is catch at all costs. if they were that type of angler they would be fishing the snags wouldnt they? just wouldnt be next to the rods! and the baitrunner would be on! sounds like a sad bunch to me. probably lying to throw you off the scent (no pun intended). soaped the snags indeed. LOL! theres one solution, take the snags out! then weed out the members who tell porkies like that. sad sad people these carp anglers eh? **sam** (echo)
