  1. ay up big g, i get on both sandiways mate and i agree they are hard waters, there is a good head of specimen fish in both of them mate, its just one of them places! its mainly tench and bream in both mate so really its still not quite the right water temp yet mate but they'll kick i any time now, what your also up against is that the water is crystal clear, there is a mass of natural food and probably the thing that makes both waters so difficult mate is the contour of the lake beds in both waters, its like an egg box mate?? there is so many underwater features, gullies, channels, gravel bars etc, plenty of time is needed with the marker float mate finding all these area's. there big fish waters big g and providing u do your homework you can reap the rewards during the warmer months matey!! moore quarry can throw up one or two surprises mate? tight lines!!
  2. i don't have problems myself with paste staying on a bare hook try chucking 50 yards though with paste moulded just around the hook! its a no go these paste aids are made to help such instances and more bream are to be had at distance than close in, personal preference i like the hook showing you hook more fish, tight lines!
  3. paste fishing ya can't beat it matey, i rarely fish anything other than paste for bream nowadays!feeder, straight lead or pole, keep it simple big ball of paste on a hair mate fished over soft 3mm trout/halibut pellets, deadly! get a tin of sardines in sunflower oil, mash them up in a bowl with a fork add an egg(the egg gives it gutts)mix the egg with the sardine mush then slowly add ground up pellet a bit at a time until its soft and doughy, need it with your hands for a bit mould it into a ball and keep it in an air tight bag while using mate. fish a ball the same size as the top half of your thumb on a paste spring hair rigged over the pellet matey! if you don't bag on that i'll eat my undies! tightlines mate!
  4. Evenin all Does anybody know of a deadly flavouring or additive that i can flavour luncheon meat with for bream in summer and winter ???
  5. I've got both of these rods dan and there both quite different from each other. The maver rod has a very soft action right through brilliant for shy winter bites, where as the sigma wand is a stiffer rod although not to stiff, i've had small carp and some decent bream on the wand and it coped no problem, for the money the sigma wand is a bargain and the spare tips for it cost next to nothing dan.
  6. evenin' all, does anybody know where i can buy trout pellets made by TROUW in the cheshire area, i seem to be struggling at the moment getting hold of the size i use ??

  10. i have to agree with you kwakakid you asked a simple question and wanted a simple answer we all like a laugh and a bit of banter but all that rubbish on one of your previous posts surely would be better held on one of your normal every day chat rooms. i can see where your coming from you ask a question and later when you look again see all them replies you think great some answers to my question, but sometimes all you get is a load of flannel, i'm not moaning or anything i can just see kwakakids point he's trying to get across.
  11. Great how nobody answered your question hey kid, give me you e-mail address and i'll tell you how to make some spot on hook pellets using gelatine, cheers 'the dog'

  13. hi john, i e-mailed tri-cast and told them the problem with the tips being so brittle and they were'nt interested they sent me a sarcastic reply rambling on about how it was the rod tom pickering used to take glory years ago. although the rods are well made the tips are c**p, i think the eyes are to close together personally, but who are we to say, thanks anyway john.
