  1. There's always a few caught around the 50-60lb mark from the river Crouch upto Harwich with the favourite spots being the sandy beaches off St Osyths and Walton/Frinton beaches
  2. Match/Catch reports don't seem to get many replies, so people who post them are unsure if anybody reads them and possibly don't think it's worth while posting them. Suggestion - Also show the number of views each message gets, so people can see how much the Forum is being used. FYI - There must be 30 Club's in East Anglia, and Our Club and Maldon Club seem to be the only people who post reports on Forums regularly.
  3. There's a problem with people taking freshwater fish to eat in my local area, a problem that's not helped by Tesco's having a 2lb mirror carp laid out on ice as fish of the day!
  4. Braintree S.A.C. are holding a open small boat match on Sunday 28th November launching from Felixstowe Ferry. Prizes are £200cash + cup for the heaviest cod and £50cash for the heaviest whiting. Full details on Club's website at www.geocities.com/BraintreeSAC
  5. I'm producing a poster for a boat match and would like to feature some clipart of a small fishing boat on it. Does anybody know of any free clipart which shows a small fishing boat around the size of a warrior or small orkney?
  6. Braintree Sea Angling Club are organising a small boat match based from Felixstowe Ferry. The Gerry Armstrong Memorial Match 2003 will be fished on Sunday 7th December. 1st prize will be £200 cash for the heaviest cod. 2nd prize will be £50 cash for the heaviest whiting. Prize money Guaranteed See Clubs web site for further details. Limited to 25 boats. Braintree Sea Angling Club's web site http://www.geocities.com/braintreesac/
  7. Times running out for setting next years fixture list, Does anybody have a 2004 tide table yet?
  8. I understand that the problem is cod shoals are diliberately targeted with the intention of landing just the roe. It's not just a case of removing roe from side catches of cod.
  9. Fishing close in during calm conditions I've used a big open ended swim feeder with excellent results. Use a fresh water ground bait for tench to mix in with chopped fish/mussels/etc
