Chet, all day long for me.

Or, are they auditioning for the "Tiller Boys" in "It ain't half Hot Mum"??
-
Much more civilised than shooting at each other.

You should also try it with the Robin Red, pre-drilled 8 mm pellets, I barely put the rod down on a lot of occasions when it was off again.
-
Maybe more a Red/Mucky Orange colour & caught me over 35 Lb in last hour of match. Rod almost pulled in every time!!

Here's a nice "Method" Mix I've started using...... Sonubaits SUPER CRUSH, Spicy meaty method mix.. Made from blended pellets, fishmeals, spices & Meat extract. (Barbel, Bream, Carp & Tench) about 6 or £7 for 2 Kg bag. It's Red in colour & fishes well with a 8 mm drilled ROBIN RED pellet with a band pulled into the drilled hole or a Quickstop pushed in like a Bayonet.(they tend to break in half if pushed right through to the other side like you would with Meat etc as the hole is a bit small)

Thanks for that Keith, the spec's are stencilled on the 11 foot & the 12' 6" sections. Strangely though they're stenciled with Identical info'.

I've just repainted all bar the 3/4 oz tip in White which shows up best against the water IMO.

Thanks Keith, mine is also the Stillwater version (per my original post) So then, what maketh a Stillwater rod?? Are the tips longer than those used for river fishing?? I'll be setting it up as a "Made Up" rod in a quiver with the heaviest tip supplied (2 & 1/2 oz) The bites are invariably vicious on the commies I fish & generally employ a 30 g Method feeder. The other tips it came with are 3/4 oz, 1 oz, 1 &1/2 oz & 2 oz. Would you err on the 2 oz instead??. I'd appreciate your advise please & does the tip have much influence on how far you can chuck?? (obviously the 3/4 oz would be for "Light bomb" work - I get that bit) I'm thinking now the 2 oz tip might tighten up nicer with a 30 g Feeder?? (we're talking Stillwater) Thanks in advance. Martin.

Thanks Andrew & Keith, I've been using the Drennan Red range 10 foot Carp feeder for the last 3 years or so - a good rod for the money (was about £40 at the time) but been finding that one a bit stiff, getting more hook pulls than I should & generally not that much fun to fish with. I'm sure I'll get much more pleasure fishing the latest acquisition.

I was somewhat overcome today by a workmate & fellow Angler to be Gifted - yes Gifted a Drennan 11 - 12 foot 6" Stillwater Feeder rod with 5 tips from his late father in law's massive collection. He said he'd sort a decent rod for me, but wasn't expecting one as good as this!! Anyone used this Rod?? Also a pair of very nice shin high lace up boots with a yellow trim (unbranded but have like an inner removable "boot shaped" sock) He flatly refused to take anything for them

Yes, I see now how the confusion happened - what a difference the an 'R' makes in a word in the title. and yes John, maybe a bit more tonic with the Gin!!

This is what happens to those who didn't listen at school. Some people are just born thick!!

According to the press she has the right of appeal!! No doubt her appeal will be held behind closed doors & then granted below the radar. New Identity - safe house etc. She'll get back in - sure as eggs is eggs!! Maybe just have to wait for some other bad News to cover it up. Here'a a quote from Mark Twain - "If Voting made a difference - They wouldn't let us do it!!"

Not exactly Cricket that's true, however - "Ah Don' Lak' Kriket"
-
Easy - just drop it into someone else's when the bins are wheeled round the front night before collection!!!

There's a 60" brolly on the Grandeslam website - not Wavelock but includes "Storm poles" so would have thought it's a severe weather type?? Just scroll down a bit, also have a look at the accompanying Vid' re adjustment of poles in Driving rain. Not sure how the poles would work on hard staging on commies?? http://grandeslam.co.uk/cgi-bin/ss000001.pl?SECTIONID=Umbrellas___Bivvies.html&NOLOGIN=1 Also this one from summerlands. https://www.googleadservices.com/pagead/aclk?sa=L&ai=DChcSEwitnc6t777gAhXMk-0KHT2MBbAYABAWGgJkZw&ohost=www.google.com&cid=CAESEeD28MlQXGyntqBQlQEDNEcx&sig=AOD64_2dETKgZmxNPJkFfCWHiW5bT0uH1A&ctype=5&q=&ved=0ahUKEwjggsmt777gAhVESRUIHXimANcQ9aACCF0&adurl I have a Preston 50" Flatback brolly - thick nylon & water proof in even the worst weather.

There is a saying which goes something like this...... "Don't tread on anyone's toes on your way up - sure as hell you'll meet them again on your way back down".

Andrew that was with "Fit2travel". Slight correction to price though - wife says it was £180 for both of us for Jamaica, but also included cancellation insurance. E.U travel was about £76, again for both of us, again with our Medical conditions. (that was for Croatia last October) We did it all Online. Hope this helps.

Andrew, see your GP - Ramipril 2 x 5mg per day re blood pressure - I don't have high blood pressure but standard heart attack kit. Just had a platinum quote for our Mexican holiday. Highest was £4.350 lowest was £1.875. Diabetic, high blood pressure and cholesterol Got it cheaper though. Atorvastatin 80 mg per day (my cholesterol is 3.4 with these) Insurance for Mexico & Jamaica was under £100 for both of us. (but I'm not Diabetic and wife's had breast cancer surgery & meds within that time which we declared)
