  1. I think i will stick to the rod fishing . Cheers guys. Which would be better for tench: 1. Heavy feeder barble rod 2. 2 and half tc carp rod I dont have a tench rod?
  2. Its strange  ?? Bread has never worked for me but chum mixers have been used to pull out bags of fish!
  3. That price sounds about right. They dont come cheap! I would love to have some but the require hight oxygen levels which i dont have .
  4. I recall reading it in the Journal! GUTTED! But business is booming with the Woody stickfloat in all the mags!
  5. I just noticed your user name H.A.! I am assuming you actually live in Hereford??? I live just out of town. Do you know Woodys?
  6. I think bait runners are over rated. They cost loads beacuse they were introduced by Shimano (the big money people). Give me a good performance normal old reel and im happy.
  7. I know its not spring yet (shame ) but i cant wait to get at some tench. This year i am hoping to break my local pond record tench of 5lb 8oz. They spend their time in the shallows and heavy lillys (researched), so im going to tackle them on the pole. Do you think No.8 elsatic will do? I want to be able to control them out of weeds without bumping them off. Any other tips for the biggies?
  8. I use bread, hemp and pinkies in winter but have found bread to be most successful. I fish still water and use some curry flavour bread crum. Works great!
  9. You should join Bupa! I dont know any fishing games for gamecube so i say none. Much better off with a PS2!
  10. They make out its a lot better than it is. I agree with Cranfield on the poor talks . Better off saving the cash and going to your local tackle shop.
  11. I agree with Tinca on that. A quick strike is important. I would fish the lift method with a pike pensil float. This diagram i just drew shows where pike will be found by red dots: They will be found on steap drop offs. Put a dead bait here and you should catch.
  12. Either Ireland or Docklow pools (Worcestershire). Never been to either but both are very popular!
  13. I agree with the no feed idea. I use just a 15mm boilie that has been soaked in green lipped mussle juice.
  14. Thats just plan stupid! Who would want to do a thing like that?
  15. hahahahahahahahahahahahah thats all i can say!
  16. Although pike are predators they are one of the more delicate and fragile of our fresh water fish. ALWAYS use an unhooking matt for pike even if you dont for carp.
  17. Nice fish. The other guys seem to be about right with the 6-7lb estimate. I would suggest you do buy an unhooking matt as you can use it for many species: barble, carp, tench, bream etc.. As the others have said its good practice.
