Fished the carp lake today, no luck i might add, but not having fished there before i didnt really expect to. nice place, i might give the river a next time, but i like the lake. Middle peg is by far the best peg, pick of the features, maybe next time i'll be luckier

Gaffer ihavent tried anywhere else on my own yet, but Patterson's could be on the cards in a few weeks. i'll just keep pluggin away and hope the weather stablises

has anyone fished the carp lake at Heyford?

is it worth going back d'ya think, or should i give up and go somewhere else. I know there are carp there, i've seen them on the bank, with other anglers, though the water seems to be getting harder to fish. could mean a change in baits.

Been checking out the website over the last couple of days, and what a great club, loads of venues, although none of them are exactly close to where i live, but their ticket prices are great value. I'll be looking into getting a season group waters ticket next year. who else has a ticket for their waters?

so from these reviews it is a summer bait, anyone use it with success during the winter?

anyone here use maize? if so how do you use it? I am thinking of giving it a go, and seeing as i have never used it, i dont know where to start. is it possible to use it with a pva bag of pellet? do i chuck it in like i would pellet or other baits i have used?

plenty of nice size carp in front of me on both days, the first day it wasnt just me who didnt catch, so the first day didnt bother me, however the second time, i had the lake to myself for nearlly 4 hours, out of the 8 i was there. So as sugested the fish just are not interested. Which is puzzling because i was told, the perticular lake was prolific in the winter

:confused: any have any idea why i have had such bad luck, on what is supposed to be a prolific water? bait used, bollies, every thing from plain sinker to pop-ups, expander and sinking pellets, dog biscuit. even ground bait.

personally i think there are enough angling programs, what i think is lacking is time slots. most of the programs are on throughout the weekend, but i'm sure most of us are out on the bank, when they are on. they should be aired during the week

Not a problem. Plenty of excellent lower division players that would put the most of the current team to shame. you are kidding right? Name 1 defender that could take the place of John Terry, Wayne Bridge, Glen Johnson, from the lower leagues, Now take a midfielder to replace Frank Lampard, another to replace Scholes, Stephen Gerrard, Joe Cole, David Beckham, now replace Micheal Owen, Emile Heskey, Let not forget David James.

i'm curious to know whether all the hype is because of who the player is (Rio Ferdinand), or for whom he plays for? As for their pay, so what, they play a sport which is more dangerous than Boxing, They can have their career cut short within seconds of stepping onto a pitch. Football is a very passionate game, Ok the Arsenal players over reacted during the game at Old Trafford, But in a game with as much history as that, tempers were going to be frayed.
