  1. I'd second that - good old foxes bite alarms!
  2. Whoops - yeah I did miss the thread a bit - i guess i was panicking a bit there! Well If Mike can do it that ( donating the blackpopular/trees) then it will save me a hassle a bit as I am up to my eyeballs with works atthe moment and not forgetting the my right leg playing up over the weekend and back on the antibiotics Will go and do a couple of Wisteria for the clubhouse
  3. Mike - how easy is it to get a black tree ( native black poplar (Populus nigra ssp. betulifolia) is a very rare and majestic native uk tree) for wingham? I hav been looking online and having a job to get one - got any suggestions on where I can get one in time?
  4. You not holding out a suspected terrorist in your house?
  5. No Problem Dave - you're welcome to it (as I never use them) and it a pleasure to help other Anglersnet members! Might consider a trip to France providing If I can get Budgie to be "reborn again carper!"
  6. Shouldn't buy too much of the second hand fishing tackle then!
  7. Kappa - it depends how much you want to spend on a spod rod! A 3lb or 3.25lb Test Curve will ideal to cast out a mini spod like Fox TB2 or Mini Spomb will be ok but for heavy duty work like spodding a big areas then I go for an example a JRC skylinner spod 4.5lb TC to the Fox Warrior 5.5lb TC spod rods - Most spod rod will be cheaper on ebay providing if you using common sense on bidding!
  8. Yes Dave got you pm late last night and it already sealed in a jiffy bag and will be posted asap
  9. No problem Newt - Consider the Wisteria is one of them - even if the area in Jan & Newt peg is not suitable then - we could have it planted around the clubhouse? If i can get hold of either Steve or one of the bailiff or budgie to go to the peg and find out what the soil area is like, then I can make some sort of preparation ready to it.
  10. While on this subject of a some sort of tree or plant - i was thinking of the two - how would you lot feel if I go for an Wisteria and Lavatera? But i am open up to offers or suggestion and will be seeking advice on what we should go for for these conditions ie gravel, soil water logged etc etc
  11. ok Sportman - i might have a couple or few knocking about - I will look for it at the weekend when I got time! I don't really use them as I prefer the off set tag
  12. try ebay - http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40...-All-Categories
  13. Sportsman - Budgie one away for a few days and I will remind him sometime this morning to get in touch with you!
  14. I am still sticking to the Kevin Nash Indulgence Big Daddy and Dave - No you can't have it
  15. Nice one John - at least you are getting the hang of the the self shot photograph then! Anyway nice bream!
  16. Yeah could say that again especially my fishing stuff in the spare bedroom!
  17. He getting all excited now! Wait till the rabbits invade your bivvy!
  18. Yes - I have use a couple of portable cookers in my lifetime Few years ago budgie used to do all the cooking when we were out fishing together and he had an Coleman double cooker and use it quite often. Somehow he gave up the cooking lark and I ended up doing it now! Somehow it got pass on to me and I did find it very hard to use especially trying to pump air into the petrol it is great when using multiple cooking but the down point is that it a bit too bulky to carry around! My uncle gave me one of these Portable gas cooker when he was getting quite a few power cuts some years ago and pass the cooker on to me which is very easy to use and also very light weight as well. I was so impress with it that I got another one when a camping store was closing down near me and stock up quite a gas canisters as well. The only downside of the portable cooker is there no windshield to cover the flames when cooking outside with a gentle breeze when fishing near water edge it a pain it the back side especially when halfway cooking and the flame go out! Budgie made a lightweight wooden windshield but the wind still get in around the flames ( might be looking into this at a later date) as I think it could improve by putting a lid over the cooking area.
  19. Ah yes the Sti Brolly or The Old Dave Lane Sti Brolly. Me and Budgie have got these brolly and wouldn't give it up for anything else! I use to find putting back the brolly back in the bag was a right pain in the back side until I came up with an idea when I was out fishing alot down at Wingham. Most Anglers assume the once the poles are separated and putting it back like the banana shape but I discovered one day while packing away budgie brolly and it works eveytime! The trick is this most I have found that if you look at the frame layout - keep the middle one where it is and then fold in the two ends inwards so you end up like an oval shape. Once created the oval shape then you fold it again into the banana shape again - then by using the tension strap - wrap tension strap around the frames like a corkscrew. Then you should find it easy enough to put it back in the bag ok. If you're still confused by this then I will put up a step by step picture or photos when I get a chance!
