I have just had an amazing week on the St Lawrence river in Canada. First fish of the trip was a 24lber, followed by countelss other hard fighting twenties, 5 in one day, my PB was smashed nearly every day, and topped by a glorious 35.8lb fish. Anyone thinking of going, go for it, its well worth it. The takes are vicious and the fights are arm wrenching, fish actually making me lose my balance...superb !!

Surely a UK lead of 650 lbs cannot be beaten...

Why do people with alarms have to have them switched on when they are sat virtually on top of the rods any way, takes are fairly obvious, line peeling off the reel, rod arched nicley toward the running fish, mine are switched on only at night and really are only used as rod rests !!!

My PB is 21lb, this was a lovely mirror off the top in a water where all the regulars emphatically claim that fish are never taken with floating baits !!! It was a pleasure to prove them all wrong.... and to catch a 20...

to enjoy some quality time on the bank will do for me. Never use boilies, used to, rely totally on corn and meat, and have banked more fish with these than any boilie on the market. A 20 off the top would be perfect...

Good link, forgot I had read that. No I am not competing, just thought it appeared really good value and worked out about the same as a trip I was planning to France and no smelly bivvy. I think some serious fish are guaranteed here though and it should be a bit of an adventure.

I think some waters get checked more than others, I have been asked to produce twice, both at the same water, and in a short period of time.

Well I had a bash yesterday, and guess what, el blanko !! Not a fish came out all day.....21 rods in. Well I gave it a try !!

good points about the club waters, ones I have never considered before,anyone know of any decent ones around Coventry ??

Wicker, Serpentine is the pool for the carp, keep it simple, meat + corn about four rod lengths out with a method feeder, don't really know about the tench.

Not so much funny but really wierd and will never forget it. Was fishing Pixley pool out towards Ledbury about 10 years ago, and the pool seemed to explode....it seemed that almost every fish in the pool jumped at the same time, the whole lake erupted with jumping fish and then all went calm, it was very strange !!

Got a week off soon and planning some sessions. Has anyone fished Gainsborough lake at Shatterford country park ?? if so any tips / advice would be more than welcome. Thanks.

Had my first session of the year today and was astonished to find that day ticket prices for two rods at my favourite lake have gone up from £5 per day for two rods to £10, same owners and nothing has changed,amazingly boards say £5 per day, £1 for extra rod, pointed this out to bailiff and he basically said tough S##T £10 please. Clifton Lakes @ Crick wont be seeing me again.

I have just had some Haiths super red delivered, has anyone used this before, if so does it need any preperation or is it ready to go. Also whats the most effective way to use it. Cheers
