  1. theres a cheaper one available from the local scrap merchants its a bit heavy because its made of LEAD
  2. The reel does look old and hand made,my guess is someone found a old bike and made a reel out of it very clever. any way who doesnt want a kayak

I have kept crabs alive for weeks in small tanks with just a aerator the live bait type or the ones you use from the mains, the crabs i have had out of their shell include the red ones, but i only put a few in at the time because they fight a lot and claws and legs get pulled off,the green crabs are pretty easy they seem to come out over night,iam yet to try the velvet type they need a lot of oxegen
  5. i have used mitchell reels models 306, 486,never had any major problems with them they are real work-horses and pretty cheap to buy on e-bay,the small problem i had with one was the bail-arm came over in mid cast so i cut it off and used it as a manual pick up the 486 will drag a boat to shore

  7. Just started a weeks holiday to do a bit of bass fishing,looking for a spot called porthgain pembrokeshire anyone have ideas where to fish around this area PS I dont do beach only rocks using crab or lures

  9. friend of mine has a fly rod which belonged to her father, the rod is unused but the make is foreign its made by weiss its a cane rod with a number of top pieces the price is still attached to it (4s and sixpence)anyone got any ideas what its worth or any other information on the make?

  11. been out spinning for bass since last friday evening,water was dirty and weedy on that night,saturday still the same,sunday saw a bit of improvement water changing colour birds diving out about 200 yards or so,took a couple of small ones, last night took 33 kept two up to 3lb what a night.
  12. i come on this sight to look for interesting stories to do with sea-fishing, rock,boat or shore but it seems to me there is little room for that when you got to put up with some illiterate arse who seems that everyone should have a go at yak fishing(very very sad)

SKINNING DOG-FISH AND PREPARING THEM FOR THE POT IS PRETTY SIMPLE AND STAIGHT FORWARD,FIRST OF ALL CATCH THE FISH WHICH HAS TAKEN YOUR BEST PEELER CRAB BAIT,(unhooking not much of a problem)IF USING A KANGO, TAKE HOME GUT IT NAIL IT TO THE DOOR CUT AROUND THE NECK PULL OFF SKIN WITH MOLE-GRIPS, FILLET IT CUT IT IN TO 3ins STRIPS SEASON WITH SALT AND PEPPER MARINATE IT IN EXPENSIVE OLIVE OIL AND HERBS FOR 3 HOURS, DUST LIGHTLY WITH FLOUR THEN DEEP FRY IT, GARNISH WITH PARSLEY AND LEMON WEDGES, THEN THROW THE LOT IN THE BIN.
