just got back from oasis at Penrith supposed to long weekend for my 40th birthday arrived in hellish weather last night awoke at 0630 to powercut and gale force winds 80mph plus all facilities U.S. trees scattered like matches some had come down on top of lodges offered three candles and two fuel logs on way back to lodge just missed getting clobbered by falling branch enough was enough. got car and after rangers had chainsawed and cleared fallen trees from roads packed up and started to head home M6 north of Penrith was littered with overturned lorries, smashes and cars up the embankments family all home safe, hot bath, toast, and tea won't forget this birthday in a hurry..... four rods and reels waiting for their first fish. approx 30 various traces made up over last 24 hrs. beachcaster and multi, 30lb boat rod and multi, two pier rods and f/spools for the kids and its cats 'n' dogs and far too windy i can stand up but the kids (lucky i put some string round them)are flying like kites. last day off before back to work and away for long weekend to oasis(penrith) for my 40th (11th). Must get on, got to get decorations down as tracy was night shift last night at hospital and wanted place ship shape when she gets up looked out window would you believe it a tiny speck of blue sky [ 03.
