  1. The biggest problem is their spikey fins and gill covers bursting the condoms after you insert them.
  2. Thanks guys. I was thinking of giving it a go but given the dire warnings about the use of uncooked peanuts ans tiger nuts, I thought I'd check to see what people thought first.
  3. Cynisism seems to come naturally to Heinz. I seem to remember them announcing that they were going to ceace production of their Salad Cream and that decision being met with howels of anguish from the strange people who put the filthy stuff on a perfectly good salad. Of course, it all turned out to be a marketing scam and they never intended to stop production at all. I wouldn't be in any way suprised if they in fact intended to tempoarily move production to Holland, re-fit the factory and move production back to Birmingham in a blaze of brand awareness and national pride .....
  4. I'm told that dough baits are very popular for carp , mullet and other species in South Africa. I can see the texture being perfect with the natural gluten keeping the bait soft enough to mould onto a hook and elastic enough to stay there. Question is, is uncooked flour safe for fish to eat ?

    Dough baits

Davey. I was specifically refering to uncooked baits. Last time I tried it, my damper was definatly cooked - maybe just a tad charred even. I might double post this on the session carp forum just to see what they all think. I'm sure they'll have opinions.

  7. No teeth in the mouth, just a rough pad. Like Mahseer, Chub and Perch (All of whom are predators with no teath in their mouths) though, they do have a set of crushing plates and pharangyl teath at the back of the throat.
  8. I have a problem with the PSP. At first glance it appeared to be the perfect travelling companion for music games and movies but actually turned out to be none of the above.
  9. Stunning if not quite unique voice. I've heared some of her session work and she sounds very much like Sinead O'Connor.
  10. Oops. It wasn't Walls, it was Burger King. http://jihadwatch.org/dhimmiwatch/archives/008141.php
  11. Wasn't it walls that changed the design of one of their ice cream packages because someone said hat the swirl of rasberry sauce looked like the word "Allah" in arabic ? Even though several Arabic/Islamic scollars said it didn't, they changed the design because it dodn't make business sence not to. No time for it myself but there you go. Hope nobody complains about the unclean meat in sausages or else Walls's sausage division will be bugg3rd.
  12. Nah, They'd be easy to catch, cast well and stay alive well on the hook but they wreak so much eccological damage with their grubbing about that any water that contains enough of them to make catching them as livebaits viable is going to be the colour of weak tea and a rubbish pike water to-boot.
  13. The X-Box 360 is the only 6th generation console out there, so it obviously stands head and shoulders above the competition - at least until the PS3 and the ill fated Wii hit the market. Nintendo have lost the plot, so their offerings are in no way competition for the deeply flawed PSP which nonetheless remains the best hand held gaming device on the market. Compare the X-Box360 and the PSP? I don't think you can. The PSP can't even be plugged into a telly so it's not a console.
  14. When used as intended, there is nothing illegal about the use of P2P sites or software. I don't think that anyone has actually mentioned a specific track or artist (other than The Worzels) and so it could be legitimatly assumed that this is a discussion about non-copywrite music that is out there in the public domain - even though it isn't. Broadcast telly on the other hand is always copywrited. Personally, I only ever really used P2P to obtain stuff that I couldn't get anywhere else. Sometimes this was because it was old and never saw a CD release, sometimes because it was a single track by an otherwise poor artist and sometimes because what I was after never saw a UK release. Yes, it was copywrite material but I don't think it was an unreasonable use of the technology.
  15. “Will you still need me, will you still feed me, when I’m 64?” Clearly not. But at least after Sir Paul’s stumped up a fair portion of his fortune, he’ll be spared that irritating odd-sock-in-the-washing-machine situation.
  16. Looked at Ares and a couple of other sites recently. I was not at all impresses with being asked to pay for (and giving my credit card details to someone involved in) what amounts to illegal activity. I think I'll stick to a combination of ripping CD's from the library, swapping music files with friends and (shock horor) actually going out and buying a few CD's. Almost all of the CD's that I buy come off the net anyway and with a bit of shoping arround, I never pay more than half the price asked by the likes of Virgin or HMV on the highstreet.

    Rain

Oops. It looks like there has been so much rain the the camera has gone down - either that or it's under water !

    Rain

It would have been nice to get out on the river with a fly rod this weekend but it's rained and rained and rained so that the river now looks like this http://www.bridgnorth-dc.gov.uk/static/page970.htm. I just hope the crazt weather sorts itself out before the season opens.
  19. OMG, they actually won. I wander what the millions of watching hairdressers made of that ?
  20. The only music comming out of Finnland at the moment seems to be metal. They've even done a metal entry for Eurovision http://news.bbc.co.uk/media/avdb/news_web/...f30_16x9_bb.asx If mothing else, it should wake up a few people in the middle of the continents annual kitch frenzy and flof a few more metal records for Finnish bands. As for "Encouraging Satanism", don't make me laugh !!!!
  21. The DPA prevents data holders from passing information and the lack of joined up government occurs because each executive agency is treated as a separate entity for DPA purposes. There are two ways round this and they ain't rocket science. 1. Decide that there is a single data holder - the UK government. or 2. Re-draft the DPA so that agencies can pass limited information between one another. 6 years on from the joined up government promis, nothing has been done. Just think how you would feel if one of your kids was knocked down and killed by a driver who was so out of their mind that they were recieving benefits on the grounds that they require supervision most of the time that they are mobilising outdoors - and you discover that the DWP hadn't told the DVLA that thie driver should have their licence revoked. There are loads of examples of this sort of thing. Hospitals wasting time and money because they are writting to someone at an address that they left months ago - when the current details are sitting on government databases.

    Big brother

Think of is as a war of attrition. A couple of movies down the line, they were all dead. If only that were true of Weslife videos and Big Brother episodes.
  23. They do both. They claim IS, a free housae and all the rest of it and then they work illegaly - that's why IND is targeting what few resourses it has available at unscrupulous employers. It's not only a good way of picking up a lot of illegals in one swoop, it alsp deals with the people exploiting the illegals with sub-minimum wages and unsafe working conditions. Not all employers are aware that they are employing people who IND has decided can't work in the UK. These people often have a NINO that is allocated for IS purposes and many employers would reasonably assume that this means they can pay contributions and work. Of course none of this would be a problem if: Assylum seekers were allocated NINO's that were immediatly recognisable as those of people who can't work in the UK - something as simple as ending it with a letter other than A, B, C or D would suffice. DWP immediatly flagged up NINO's for investigation where someone is both paying contributions and claiming IS. IND were immediatly notified if someone who is precluded from working starts to pay contributions. Of course, none of this things happen because joined up government is a myth.

Shame it wasn't a Westlife video then......
