  3. Hi Alan, the building on fire was Brighton's West Pier. It had two fires last year and a few collapses. Totally knackered now. As far as i know im the only person to have made an underwater documentry about the reef formed by the collapse. Should be in Amsterdam early next year to visit family, will drop a line if you like.
  4. Bugger, edible eh? oh well live and learn. Had a great time though and all the well weathered guys on the arm were very friendly and helpful. So far im well impressed with this fishing malarky.
  5. Well, went for my first ever sea fishing trip off Shoreham Arm yesterday for 3 hours and actually caught a blinking big gurnard. Well chuffed, shame it wasnt something edible. Only problem was that my mate managed to snap my spare rod somehow!! So i now need a new beachcaster. I dont want to spend a lot of cash so can anyone make a recomendation for me? p.s. Spasor, spoke to Mike at Prime Angling and left a very happy chap. Excellent, friendly (and comical) bloke.
  6. Thanks Morcambe, thats exactlty the information i was looking for. Thanks a million
  7. Its an Abu ambassadeur 6000. As for buttons, on the reel handle side there is a star shaped rotating ring. and in the centre a knurled ring. There is a silver button whick locks in the down position until the handle is turned. on the left plate of the reel there is a sliding on/off switch.
  8. MSN has voice over net capabilities, so you probably picked up a conversation by mistake during boot.

  11. Hi Norrie, i'll be on a clean sandy seabed(lancing/worthing) with shingle foreshore. But it would be nice to fish somewhere rougher. Guess i need something middle of the road.
  12. whoops, should have thought of that. OK, without a scrap, can i have some help please
  13. Afternoon all, im hearing from a few people that i should get a multiplier reel for shore fishing. So before i start to trawl ebay, any makes / models you lot recommend me to look out for or avoid. Cheers Sean (knows nowt about fishing) Clark [ 15. 14. With the inshore commercial diving i spent plenty of tome bobbing about on boats. I second what was said earlier about travel pills and fixing on a solid object on the horizon. Also stand in the centre of the boat where the effects of the boat rocking are minimal.
  15. cheers spasor, top information, i'll check out mike in the week. i was diving on newhaven arm the other week in clear (for england) water. i could see the anglers stood on the arm from the bottom and a huge shoal of mackeral just below the bait. strange to watch,
  16. nope, ebay from leestackle.com. Have not used the rigs yet. Not forgetting that i wouldnt know a good rig from a bad one! Lots to learn.
  17. Your assuming im going to catch something ;-|)
  18. Thanks for the warm welcome. I guess im going to fish on Lancing beach or Shoreham harbour arm. The beach is shingle untill the neap low water mark then shallow sandy seabed. Ive got some basic kit that i found in the loft, beach caster rod, spare rod and a couple of reels and line. I bought a few rigs off ebay and am keen to get going.
  19. Hi everyone, this is my first post on the board. Im totally new to fishing so any advice welcome. Ideally i intend to get into sea fishing down here in sunny Lancing, Sussex.
