  1. Elton, I appear to have lost the ability to view the forums in a frame... is this intentional? Both the links from your home page now open a new window... or is this just me?

  4. I don't know if you can drown a worm... I do know that if you can, it must take an awfully long time... I have recently lined a pond and filled it with water, I keep finding worms that have found their way into the pond overnight... all still alive

  10. I use hooklengths for three main reasons... 1. If the line is going to snap, I want it to be the hooklength. Quick and easy to replace and easy for the fish to shed. 2. If the line is going to snap, I don't want any fish trailing my terminal tackle and several yards of nylon around with it. Slow and expensive and difficult for a fish to lose 3. It makes changing to a larger or smaller hook when required or replacing a damaged hook a doddle. You ask does using swivels weaken the rig? The answer is yes ... any knots will weaken a rig to a degree, but this should be taken into account when deciding what mainline and hooklength to use. Hope this helps... 14. I usually use Maxima as a main line for light Waggler work and light feeder work... Lately I have been experimenting with Middy's Low Viz... I am not convinced... I have heard good comments about Trilene XL... Does this come in BS of about 4lb? Would this serve me better than Maxima (I am about to switch back to Maxima) Is there an ultimate line that will remain supple, have low memory in lower BS 3,4,5 lb's? Your thoughts would be appreciated...

  18. Teflon coated hooks have been around in the UK for a number of years now in smaller sizes. I occasionally use sizes 18 to 24 and they seem to stay sharper longer than none coated hooks...

  21. Ian, This is clearly none of my business BUT... How the hell can you survive at all on £55.00 per week with children as well?????? Surely you must be entitled to some kind of benefit or extra income (Income support perhaps?)??? £55.00 surely cannot be the sum total of your family's income... please don't answer that, its rhetorical and none of my business but as far as I am concerned if that is the case you deserve a lot more support from the state than you are apparently getting!!

  23. I find it interesting that people who want it legalised claim that there are no long term side effects... then just as I am about to become convinced... somebody cites examples of changes in behaviour, which is indicative of physcological changes (damage?) etc...  On the other hand... knifes are dangerous and can cause serious harm. If a person wishes to harm themselves, shouldn't they have that right? or by definition would they be considered insane and then lose that right anyway?
