  1. Same as you Stoaty, no real new season here just get out when I can Gave my Orkney a serious sorting last year, new Etec 90 motor and after many hours sanding and buffing got the hull back to its original red colour The only thing I didnt do was the keelband But I don't want to crane her out just for that, so I'll dry her out on a big tide on some chocks and get on with it sharpish
  2. Some cracking fish though Dale Sounds like hard work though
  3. Obviously not a mullet angler then Mike? One of our finest sporting fish and should be angled for, not ripped for
  4. I'll be out with the lad on my boat. Forecast looks good, but it has been a stead force 5 here today Hopefully tomorrow we'll anchor for blonde rays and also have a few drifts for turbot. Sunday we are off wrecking in the hurd deep. But to be honest catching pollack doesnt float my boat so I'll probably stay deep and hope for a cod If the weather doesnt play ball, we'll go mulleting
  5. All this talk of fishing for exotic species in the hot sunny climes has got me jelous Ive just booked to go to Prague
  6. Nice fish Toerag Gonna be flat calm this weekend with a neap tide too May have to see if that sounder you sold me can actually find any wrecks
  7. Here you go Scotty http://www.alderney.gov.gg/download.php?pfile=65
  8. Welcome to the forum Eatlard Saw a picture of that eel, it was like a log Glad to hear it went back OK. Got a monster net now too, don't really want to gaff conger. Just waiting for the waves to stop pounding over the breakwater and I'll be out there
  9. I'm sure something can be arranged Andy
  10. Reckon its Elton making ends meet
  11. Excellent news Scotty I'm off work the week before taking some friends out on my boat. I'll keep you informed as to whats about and where
  12. There is a couple of places to fish down the cliffs there. It'll help me with my other target for this year......to get fit The breakwater usually turns up a 50 every year, nows the time for the big old girls to come in
  13. Put me in the hat too, as it were Still only managed pollack and garfish on the fly gear, but great fun though. Happy Birthday for wednesday MJB
  14. Thats not your boat Toerag, its going too slow! You push yours far harder than that
  15. I've got an Orkney 21 with an Evinrude Etec90. The engine was new last may after it was given the thumbs up by a couple of guys on AN. And it has lived up to all my expectations Top speed is 31 knots which is a bit more than the boat is designed for Less than a litre per mile too

    Garfish

A mate of mine calls them Satans Serpents 'cos they are such a pain when mulleting. Great bait for loads of species including turbot in the spring before the mackerel have turned up.
  17. Same here in Alderney! Must be because my replacement prop finally arrived
  18. Great news CJ. Good decision to keep the boat too. You may well have regretted selling her.
  19. Sad but true, its 2 - 0 to him for the doubles this year And both of his were on plugs
  20. Perfect weather for a bit of Alderney mulleting. We'll be there
  21. I thought that sighting was genuine Phil Britts is a well respected skipper and his crewman has seen many GWs. Also wasn't Henry Gilbey on board too. Remember something about a mangled seal being washed up and a photo of a surfer with a shark in the wave he was on. Youre probably right Ian though
  22. I reckon a bream 'cos the squid strip was bitten off at the hook
