i am 110% sure they aint mullet. i seen loads of mullet in the harbour and i have been about 2 metres away from these and they are deffinitely bass. what are blennies???? and how do i catch them?? has anyone got and method of catching shrimps and crabs on a larger scale??

yer but it wont die in as much pain as having half its body chopped off

i know where a big rock pool is just about waiste deep with water. last time i went down there, sunday evening, there was around 50-70 bass in there biggest about 1lb and the smallest only few inches long. i've tried to spin for them lol just for a bit of fun whilst the tide came in but to no avail. they're always in there, this wasnt the first time. anyone know how i can get my hands on these, only want a bit of a challenge, aint gonna do anything with them. trust. also i see quite a few shrimps and crabs in there but i've stopped going in the pool cos im scared of the weavers, lol. any one know how i can catch some bait for when the tide comes in? only shrimps and crabs? my dad and i have had quite a few sizeable bass at this venue (dad had a 7 1/2lb) so i gotta beat him or i'll never hear the end of it. im gonna try bait fishing down there, hoping for a double figure. theres loads of rocks here but theres also a bit of sand next to it. would i be better fishing on the sand as not to lose as much tackle or risk it on the rocks. i've set a layline down at this venue before whilst the tide came in and we fished it using lures. we caught quite a few using the lure but absolutely nothing using the hooks baited with worm tipped with squid. we were catching on lures just 10m away from where the layline was. anyone have any suggestions why this could be? anyone got any tackle suggestions for this type of fishing? rigs etc? bait collecting? it sounds stupid but lack of me catching fish recently has got me a bit down. i just need a moral boost of what people are catching at the moment. i espcially need to see some big bass as im looking to hunt some down over the next few weeks.

dnt be a fool taimen, of course we need shockleader. well i know i do because when i used to fish without it i was losing takle on a regular basis, just through casting. and now theres not so many fish about you need to cast out further to get in the deeper water

if you get one without a sim, i have o2 genies and virgin ones avaliable very cheap

doubt if i'll be cutting the tail off any live fish. anyone got any tips on livebaiting small pouting or joeys?

seeing as this is the first person to complain i dont think you need to worry mate. you've got like 3000+ posts so i dont think anyone will question you as you seem to be a very regular poster.

well im not reli a kid now bt a young man (16) and as long as i can remember i've always looked after the fish i catch, if im going to keep them then i kill them straight away and put them in a bag out of the sun. as for the litter if there were more bins then people would use them. i always use the bins on the pier and one day i was fishing up there, the baliff bloke saw me put some paper from the worms in the bin and without a care in the world just strutted over to the bin, took the paper out and threw it straight off the pier as it was the right thing to do. i think i was about 14 and even at that age i was furious and confronted him about it, cant remember what he said but he didnt do it again whilst i was there, and he was the official pier baliff. stupid idiot
