  5. Been to Brighton canoes and brought a palm combi bib and brace, with a yak skua top which has a hood fitted, no silly hat needed, thanks all for your advise. Colin
  6. New p 13 arrived from brighton canoes yesterday,to replace my faulty one. It is one from U.S.A. only diffrencess i can see are cross head screws used instead of allen head type, footwell and tankwell scuppers are smaller, seat scuppers larger. In nz scupper trolley was a very tight fit, in usa a very loose fit, concernd trolley could damage scuppers, like the look of new trolley Simon found. Finish on kayak looks just as good looking forward to first paddle, handy having inshore lifeboat at site i will be launching, never needed them when i used to wind surf and dinghy sail, so hope this is a good sign. Brighton Canoes gave first class service . Colin
  7. Cheers Darnsarf i will need to go and try some on prob at Brighton canoes as i will need at least XL, hopfully once i start paddling, i will shrink into a smaller size, one can only hope Colin
  8. Looks like i will have to spend some more money then,I am leaning towards dry paddling trousers with a semi dry cag as i can not get on with latex seals around my neck find they irratate, any recommendations on good two piece greatfully received. Colin
  9. Has anyone thought or used a floatation suit for paddling in. Or any thoughts as to wether they would be suitable for the task. Colin
  10. Phoned Brighton Canoes today had received my p13 ,agreed hull not right sending out new p13 next week , it is from USA but should be ok.I think maybe mine could well have been transit damage.Ihave found Brighton Canoes very helpful and would recommend them. Colin
  11. I think a phone call to brighton canoes may be in order tomorrow as they said they had none left, i have just had the credit card bill got 2 weeks to pay, so may have to contact them if i get problems Colin
  12. Brighton canoes had my p13 picked up today as they said they would, now awaiting outcome of warranty claim can not fault them at the moment. Colin
  13. Recevied my P13 yesterday has misshappen hull in front of one scupper.Tried hairdryer to warm as per instuctions from Brighton canoes, looks like it will have to go back, seems a bit of a lottery upon which P13 you get.Iwas told only come in olive or yellow, no mention of flame or mango,no P13 left in country so i may have a long wait will keep you posted Colin Recevied my P13 yesterday has misshappen hull in front of one scupper.Tried hairdryer to warm as per instuctions from Brighton canoes, looks like it will have to go back, seems a bit of a lottery upon which P13 you get.Iwas told only come in olive or yellow, no mention of flame or mango,no P13 left in country so i may have a long wait will keep you posted Colin This is a link to my p13 http://img101.imageshack.us/img101/9403/p10100969vb.jpg
  14. Back in the 1980 s i towed a water skier in the Cross Channel water ski race, safety was a big problem due to diffrent speeds and routes. Insurance became a problem ie we had to have safety boats within site of each other on the whole route . A year after we took 2 blind skiers over in a group of 5 boats lovely sunny day ,mid channel fog came down, sat for 20 mins on tick over against tide listening to fog horns very unnerving fog cleared ,rest of crossing ok.It may be possible in a small group with 2 or 3 safety boats, somebody would need to take van on ferry to bring you and yaks home, unless you were going to paddle home as well. Round the isle of wight may be easier if the are large numbers. BEST OF LUCK Colin
  15. There is also a dive kent book the gps positions are not in metric, but imperial you need to convert the last 3 digits ,it only makes a small diffrence, i will try to find the calculation to convert, this is for dive kent i would think others the same. COLIN
